You just have to know a few butchers (and industiral pottery types) "whatever you do don't do this....(sausage like object flys across the room)..oh bugger not again."
yay another bloke with bad hands to drop down in to the KMB group of painting skill. :D
Barely even lurking..

Flashback!
(I mentioned this before somewhere but can't remember if it was here, so sorry if it's repetition)

Way back in a crafts lesson at school, brain of Britain teacher decides I should have the honour of having a go on the wood lathe.
Bear in mind that at this point, I'm the kid who stabbed stargod and managed to chop another kids finger off. 8O

Danger will robinson!

The teacher, being a paragon of good practice, health and safety, hands me a lump of tree and says "off you go."

I finally work out how to bolt it to the machine, how to angle the steel lever to apply the chisel and so on.
What I didn't work out, was that a chunk of tree is not as round as you might think.

Start the machine, rev it up. Faster and faster till it reaches terminal velocity.
Brace chisel on bar and apply it to spinning tree.

CLUNK! Non round bit hits chisel at 4.000.000 rpm.
Chisel leaves childs hands and flies off at mach 10.
HEAD HEIGHT!
ACROSS A CLASSROOM!!
OMG!!!

It flew off at truly horrifying speed and hit the wall opposite.

No-one even noticed.

So it's time to revive my dead project log. To start things off today here's my WIP land raider and redone WIP EC.

Somehow I've found myself needing to create a fluffy army of BTs and Crimson Fists combined into one force for some sort of homebrew campaign. Either way I'm happy as I'm not sure how much more black I can paint.. anyways, here's the start of two 10 man Fists tac squads. Next post to be at the end of the week, hope to have first squad finished completely as well as Pedro!

p.s. Anyone think the highlights on the armless model are too much? I'm unsure if it looks too bright, just trying to experiment.

It's probably the light but the highlights look the same on all the models to me! They do work though. So long as you are happy with them then tat's OK :)

well i can tell the difference between them (only when viewing the pic at full size though). they all look fine, but IMO you should either make all the highlights the same, or reserve the brighter style for Sgts/ICs etc.

EDIT: personally, if i had to pick, i would go with the brighter ones, on all the models (should be easy to add a lighter highlight over the tops of the highlights already on the others).

hope that helps :)

After shelving my Templars for a little while to work on the Fists I am reviving my BT project log yet again! One thing I felt my templars were missing was a quality sergeant/possible sword brethren model, so I painted this guy up with that in mind. I don't think the picture really does the tabard justice though... spent about two hours layering/blending it only to have it come out blah in the pic. Oh well, such is life. More pics to follow soon!
