Cheers Hunter. Don't worry - I'll save you the cake! (Rats! Didn't realise the final photo post was almost at the end of the page: Have reposted to be at top of page for any following comments:)

The finished brass Scorpion. It took too many hours to think about! Well over 100. I still need to create some kind of base, but that can wait for now. Whadya think folks?:

Wow, would you like to paint one for me now?

At least you have some lightweight sillyness to do now...

Very nice. Not sure about the red though, have you considered green?

Very nice Herne. Loved this model since FW released it. And yours is a very damn nice example. It may have taken a long time to finish, but it has definatly been worth it, and it shows. Three thumbs up.

That is a work of art. Well done mate!

Looks excellent mate. It definetly works with the black sides and that underbelly with all the wires looks brilliant.

@Herne, what everyone else said...and more!
Really a showcase of your skills in painting taking an impressive model and making it an outstanding work of art!

I also think you had the right idea to leave the plates on the body black.

You should send a picture or two to GW, they'll probably post them on the website.
Give you a chance to really show off!

Mate, that is absolutely stunning. You must have the patience of a saint to do all those cables! Very impressive work.

Cheers Guys! It's great to have such positive feedback. Going through a bit of a 'rough patch' at the moment, so all your praise has certainly lifted me a bit. So - what shall I do next? I've got to paint some witches for Estarriol first, but then I can't decide. I can do some of the Rhinos for the already painted deathguard, I could do the blood slaughterers to match the brass scorpion, which is very tempting as I'm in a 'red' phase, or I could pick one of the myriad other items in the army crying out to be done.... ;-)
