Be careful not to put the daylight bulb too close to the subject though or you'll wash out the colours.

Thanks for the advice guys, think it's about time I invested in a decent lamp with a daylight bulb rather than straining my eyes anymore.

Not many painted models to update I'm afraid, just started a new job so haven't had the largest amount of free time but I have had some reinforcements. :D

Like the painting, very nice.
Are those standard GW bases?

Heheh yeah they are, I generally use 1P's to weight my models but these two had slot bases which wouldn't fit a penny in, so I glued a 2P on the bottom and painted it black, kinda works because the extra weight helps Sanguinor stay a little more stable and my sergeants/s. priests stand out a little more.

Okay, that explains it.
I usually just fill in the bottom of my bases with either spackle (called polyfilla in the UK) or hydrocal (a casting compound like plaster of paris).
I find it is enough weight to keep the models from falling over.

Nice models. You managed to get a very crisp white on those wings.

Ah never thought of that Timewizard, will give it a try for my tactical squad with slot bases, don't feeling like giving my regular opponent any more LOS on them :P

Thanks Matt, I took your and Herne's advice and invested in a daylight lamp, makes painting so much easier
