Have you thought about going for the osprey look?
You know the twin tilt rotor job the USMC use.
Would keep with the uber death copter look.

Looks awesome.. based on scale.. i think bloke who said use as counts as truk et al was right.. Its a nice size, as long as you don't go overboard on weaponry it should easily fit into counts as .. (and therefore get a lot more table time :))

New photos! since the last batch I've added rotors, tail plains, green stuff to hide joints, the co-pilot needed his plasma gun repositioned to fit round the engine and the hull has had some armour plating.

That's coming along really well, very "up country" (ork country?).

Actually, this reminds me, have you any idea how to go about making propellers with the leaf shape blade and the twist?

It's giving me a brain ache.
Might be forced to get some personal fans/model aircraft/boat ones.

ruffian4, for propellers have you tried cutting the rough shape of the whole prop from thick plasticard then gently heating it over a candle and twisting it then dremmeling or fileing the tapered edge to the blades? i'll give it a go later and see if i can work it out for you.

matt, the actual model will hold 8 boyz plus krew but apparently a trukk holds 11 and i can only get 6 in mine so it can probably have a transport capacity of 11 or more

I think it's superb and will look great painted up. More rivets will make a positive impact though :)

I haven't actually tried anything yet.
The theory is enough to enwobble my determination!

I did some internet scouring, and someone said you could build props out of pop bottle tops (the curved part at the very top of the bottle, not the lid/cap), I have some bottles yet to go to recyc, might have a bash at chopping them up...
