Eeek!

I admire your patience, haven't done anything now for a fortnight.

When I feel intimidated by a process, it seems I have to build up to it, then, once I give it a go, it is as if it were never so bad in the first place.

Green stuff is your friend!!!!!!!!

well im looking at pinning the hull (like nige did with brutus) using an old file thats been hacked up, but no matter which way i look at it, the file always goes through the floor of the interior, thus leaving a great chunk of metal sticking up where the tech priest will be

its really not that scary, untill you do the arms, much too thin X)

grumble grumble moan

just finished scrubbing down the main body parts, and the flashing around the hip join is so bad that its completely out of line, along the left side of the forward hull over some of the armor panels, in the joins around the rear section

any tips to remove the flash lines over the left side and still keep the detailing?

i know it doesnt look like much, but it does actually scare me that i might loose those panels completely, im not really the best at clean up work...

its the forward section of the body

the vulcan will be sitting next to that part, unless i can find more suitable magnets (how is the movement tray magnetizing kit you guys sell?) then the weapons will be fixed, so i might be able to work a position that would cover it

although, i found a few sheets of plasticard, so i might be able to sort out a panel and make it look like a repair patch (train model shop on redcar highstreet sells it if anyone is looking, but the guy in there is rather stuffy, so dont expect too much help)

will see what i can come up with, because i rather excel at plasticard repairs, just look at some of my earlier dreads :D

oh nige, what about the torso pinning? i'd rather not have it poking up the middle of my tech priest :P

If the casting is bad you should complain to FW. You pay big money, you should get decent stuff.

you can just see it on that picture that the panel is off centre, the bottom part between the two panels, the line runs to the right of the rest of it, like i said i might be able to fix it with plasticard, its nothing that major really (just crapped myself when i started thinking how i could clean it up).

other than the techpriest having incredibly bent up servo arms and staff (hot water to bend back, i know) and the banner for huron being a mess (wasnt using it anyway since it was cast with astral markings, or at least i think they were astral markings), the kits are in good order

so for my first forge order, i have to give them a 9/10, they lost a point because of the release agent, icky icky :P

will finish clean up on the main body tomorrow, pin everything into place (not glued), do a balance check on a leg pose, if it takes, pin the legs (thanks nige for the idea) and prime them, since the halfords stuff takes 24 hours to dry (recommended by you lot) i'll do up an attack bike or two :)

this is definately the right primer... right? its a 500ml grey primer by halfords themselves

anyone had any experience with this?
http://www.gamingfigures.com/viewProduc ... oduct=4727

looking for smaller magnets for the titan arms, but i think those might be too small, i only ask because it says ''supercharged'', and from 4 i have on the desk in front of me (not from that kit) i know how strong super charged magnets can be, but this is a tonne of resin we're talking about here, and i'd just like to be sure :)

if not, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've not used them - I didn't even know they made them!

To be honest, you probably want to use the biggest magnet you can fit (or at least err on the side of caution and go larger). Always better to be safe than sorry.

I used a pair of 1 CM magnets spack kindly donated.. its strong enough to hold up my titan arms, with enough spare to give me a blood blister if I leave any of my finger betwixt the 2.

For small magnets maybe sticking 8 as an orbit (be very tricky but more subtle and possibly more powerful)
I bought a couple of hundred from here.

although I'm afraid I can't remember which SmCo or Neodymium Iron Boron is better..
I *think* these are the type and style (if not brand) we all use?? Every size from 1mm to 40mm listed on page.
