From the generals workshop

Postby General_Lee » Mon Oct 12, 2009 12:15 pm

My camera has been out of action for a while but I've been busy. I've been catching up on my painting queue after getting hold of army painter dip.

here is my warbike mob
ImageImageImage
Deffkoptas- there are another 5 to paint but i don't have flying bases for them yet
ImageImageImageImageImageImage
My interpretation of Wazzdakka Gutzmek. this is scratchbuilt from an AOBR warboss and a SM bike plus skulls from a chaos terminator lord with green stuff flames.
ImageImageImageImage
My new painboy from the very old blood axe warboss. I love this model but had no place for him in my waargh so he had a plasticard bionik arm built.
ImageImageImage
and finaly a Nobz mob from AOBR using dip.
there are also five gorkamorka trukks, lootas, burnas, kommandos, 4 boyz mobs and a scratchbuilt battlewagon painted and waiting for photos. As i say, I've been busy.

did you have to hand-sculpt those shin plates? Brown-stuff?

Loving the scracthbuilt Dread - I've often wondered how they would turn out and based off your photos they are impressive.

Whats sized 'tubes' did you use for the Dreadnought arms, legs and pelvis?
Any suggestions / comments from your experience for someone who might be considering scracthbuilding the Dreadnought in future?

the plasticard i used was a little thick so left large ridges. I used the patern for the torso and shoulders then gave up on it for legs and arms. put in any cables as you go, they are too fiddly to get in afterwards. If you have the dreadnought kit this is a very easy way to use up the extra weapons options.
arms are 6mm, 8mm and 10mm tubing, legs are a mix of the same
here it is painted up.

How do the mantic models compare in size to citadel ones? Are those ghouls the same scale as say an IG trooper or an empire soldier?

The Legion look good - have you tried them in a game yet?

Let me just check the sprue I received yesterday.
They are smaller, but I believe they are larger than the GW VC undead ghoul creatures.

They look to be about the same size as the WF English redcoats.
