Hi all,

Started a new army and finally got it up and running with a few squads!!

The Dreadnoughts and termies arent completely finished, got some minor details to complete, but after they are done i can move onto my Two Landraiders I have on the side for the army and tac sqds.

I have transfers for the army, just waiting for my transfer paper to come through.

They are looking good. Is that the dread from the AoBR set?

Yep and so are 7 of the termies, ive used washers etc to give the dreads and termies a more imposing look, and also to blend the old termies in to the AOBR ones :)

gosh , those are the ones we swappped?
You made them pretty.. can we have some close ups (or stuff in the gallery so they look bigger on my screen :oops: )
Didn't recognise them without scabby black plain bases :lol:

Lol. i was wondering when you were going to notice! Yep i have the metal ones in there that we swapped!

I will get gallery pics up, we got bought an ace camera for xmas, however close ups are always blurry so i need to read the manual...dam.

Termies need more detailing, however im currently painting drop pods YAY!

Well im gibraltar the 40k scene has finally risen! they have a site, and as of next month a club place to play :D

This army is now for there tournament in august, i know my list isnt awesome, but its the one i want to field :D

You can't have 5 termies and 2 heavy flamer anymore, its one per 5 capped.
You can't take a drop pod for the minned tactical, it requires a full 10 man squad (its a shame because it would be really useful with combi flamer sarg to bump the drop ratio up)..if its any consolation I only spotted that one last week :oops:
What are those vanguard.. they jump packked or what.. look ugly replace with regular jump dudes.
2 super minned tactical squads is very very ballsy in 5th.. all you need is 5 meq casulties and you only can get a draw at best objective wise.. does the tourney have any special rules, house lists?
Do they confirm shrike can take a squad with him (its a hot raw topic and worth asking at each tourny in advance)
I also wouldn't generally take landraiders and termies and shrike.. since fleeting termies is most of the point of taking that combo.. but meh 2 LRs is the tourney champion of the mo..tell us how it goes in warm up games
(no love for the uber thunder hammer and storm shields.. how will you beat up nidzilla :lol: )

EDIT if in your second draft you have a few points left over consider taking multimelta on your landraider..cheap and potent. (or a chainfist in each termie squad, for ironclads raiders etc)

Very nice Boris, like the "limited colour palette" scheme, it gives them very good uniformity and you have contrast in there too.

Glad you finally have somewhere to play "little army men!" :D

Yeah, it's an odd one...there seems to be a dislocation between (probable???) RAI and a strict application of (probable???) RAW that stops ic's "joining" a squad before the game starts, therefore denying Shrikes enabling a non-infiltrate squad to infiltrate with him.

Hmm, I have a FW one, which was for 5 men, obviously that was the old FW rules :)

I do like these marines, the marines have 1 extra Leadership and the sergeant gets free powerweapon, so its whether i think that extra lleadership is worth 10pts.....im thinking not.

Ill ask the guys, I was thinking of dropping a LR for maybe a vindicator & thundefire? Also couldnt Nidzillla be taken down by the lightening claw armed termies & possibly a crusader?

Lightning claws won't touch (as in are incapable) wraithlord ctan, ironclads monoliths, landraiders and will actually struggle with some leman russ that are av11 on the rear (hence me and LH now swear by chain fists, and I really kill for TH and SSs)

Vanguard, you know thats without jump packs costing right(they come pack less, you buy them packs on top), if you add jump packs they cost 60 or so more, not 10.. also go with the fist..always :),

Drop pod wise, so you asked if your allowed to use the imperial armour book your talking about in a tournament?

wow, didnt realsie that about the vanguard! why supply them with JPs?? also i read the transport part of the bit and gotrr confused, well they are worthless!

Gonna have to get a couple extra weapons in there, to fight the unique units,

also i asked the tournie organiser this:

ME: can ICs start the game with squads attached?

Admin: yes. eg it says in rule book that dedicated transports can only begin the game with their 'parent' unit including IC

So hes saying ICs can start with squad, ill make sure he gets it printed :P

New list, what you think KMB? (btw thanks for the help, i want at least a chance here, got any interesting lists i could try and report on?)

If you supply them with JPs, they can assault on the turn they arive by deep strike.

So whats your default set up for your list conscript?
I see it as.
LC termies and shrike infiltrate up close (shrike zooming off on his onesies to engage a dev squad or something (guard command squad thats just lost ifs chimera), whilt LCs charge forwards, if able to find hidden spot on the table to get within 18"s they can potentially have a first turn charge)
Drop pod dumps dreadnought beside biggest tank opponent has and aslong as within 12" double dices it.
Regular termies in landraider zoom up for second wave support, along with jump troops (hidden behind the big tank maybe) and for covering fire/mopping up detail (big termis also surround LR to give it cover save occasionally)

Razorback moves 6 for coverig shots and 3rd wave support. whilst rhino stays stationary for krak missile and cover bases close to you..
If you wanted your assualt marines with shrike, I'd suggest they need to be bigger in case you don't get first turn. You need more points!! :)
