For members to post long running threads about projects they are working on

Ummm I wonder how this would work with my Spawns. I have 3 that I am currently working on. Is is better to prime with white or grey rather Black when applying this method?

Well the dip/stain is going to produce the dark shading for you. I've only tried with a light base coat but I'm guessing it depends on the finish you want. Dipping dark colours will either have no effect or a very subtle one I would have thought.

There's a dipping sticky on Warseer isn't there which might have more info about different starting colours.

I'm hoping to dip the next squad and the broodlord at some point soon. It might wait until my between-jobs-two-weeks-off in Feb next year. THe project is still alive though!.... if a little slow going.

The 12 finished stealers did feature in a couple of Space Hulk games on Monday night though (My 1500 point 40K game vs BDA was over in 3 turns/60 minutes after I purged the galgaxy of more troublesome Eldar so we had a couple of games of SH while Wolflord Havoc and Martyn were playing "How many models can I fit in my army" on the other table).

Its not so much a light or dark base of colour underneath the dip, but the brighter and solider the colour the better.

Hmmm... new 'Nid codex on the horizon so I might add a few models here and there this year to make a small force up. This will be a slow build army for sure. BDA has the ronseal at the moment (for dipping his lizard army) so I'll probably get a new tin.

I like the red stealers but might try some other colours - although that would mean the army might look a little garish... we'll see.

I just realised this thread has been untouched for a year! Those stealers have been lurking on a shelf for 12 months... getting hungry no doubt.

40+ stealers would be very relevant to this thread+ lots of other stuff.
Its all still up for grabs at the right price.. :D (as is the stuff in the rest of the thread, Mr6 is thinking about the dark elfs, and angelwing may or maynot be saving up for the rogue trader bits of nids inc squiggles.. but nothing cement yet.)

Well I certainly don't need stealers! I'll have a think about the gaunts though.. although it'll be a while before I'll want anything new yet... I'd like to paint up a few more units of the stealers I already have first.
