Look good. I really like the effect he did on the craters! Any tips for us noobs?

He'd never done terrain before (or much drybrushing) so I told him what to do!

Craters were all sprayed chocolate(ish) brown (a colour wolflord havoc was spraying all his skaven and I..er...borrowed it...).

All the following is done wth a large 1/2" brush

1st drybrush all over = tallern flesh
2nd dry brush not to the edges and lighter = tausept ochre
Final drybrush around rim and any prominant edges = dheneb stone

In the middle of the crater heavily drybrush a circle using black but getting lighter as the circle expands (effectively blending the stain in). Drybrush streaks out from the middle to the centre with black too (lightly... getting very light to the eges, again blending the stains to the brown background).

Edges flocked with static grass/coral sand mix (same as I use on my marines). Patches of grass on the rocks are a really nice flock from TSS

I think the one on the far right must have been his first attempt... I might have to fade out the black a bit in that so it looks less like a big black circle!

I tried the chipped-armour technique from the latest WD on a few spots on the chem plant (edges of the green containers). Seemed to work quite well.

I like the bombed out factory!
Good LOS blocker and the second floor looks like it would make a great "sniper's nest".
They should look terrific once they've been flocked, grassed and "Mattified"!

Nice work. The large building, the 'factory', it is a kit? Or did you just use foamcard and bash it together with other stuff?
I might just have to make one of those, I really like the way it came out. Nice rust color on the corrogated roof.

Drybrush mechrite red/a little cathlan brown/a little dheneb stone
Drubrush adding more dheneb stone

each stage is a progressively lighter drybrush focusing more on edges

Very nice.
