the head and the horns are both from one of the banner tops from the WHFB black orcs set. I might have a spare one of those kicking around too.

Kans are built, now they need paint. I might get a chance to prime them this weekend, so woo.

Deffdread mostly built, still needs a few more bits - base texturing, engines (which will wait until I have another box of kans, as they're interchangeable). Very cool model, and absolutely 'ooge.

I like making him look dead stompy. Three DCCW and a single skorcha.

Facing off against a beakie dread:

The kans get jealous and decide its their turn:

More size comparisons, and an excuse to make them look like they;re munching on marines:

They look...orky! Nice poses.

I like the fact the kits are interchangeable. You didn't opt for magnets then?

No, magnetising ball joints would have been a bit too much hassle I reckon. And you can't make the poses quite as characterful.

I did consider it, but decided against it.

UPDATES!

Group shot, as i got the walkers and the warjack boss primed last weeked:

Image

The furthest one progress wise is the warjack boss, the others are just primed, and one has been about half coated in tin bitz. checks/dags needs tidying up, lots of highlighting needed, and not sure about how to paint the glyphs, or what else to do with him. Might add some glyph transfers to his leg plates and "loin cloth." red shoulder pad is to help balance the checks/dags on the other shoulder, without making it symmetrical. Think I might carry over the one shoulder red through to the walkers.

Looking Great! That boss reminds me of some kind of psycho bull - you've gotta paint up a space marine as a matador! ;-) Loving the new can models too.

hi sorry my otherhalf niteterror wanted to know what part of the black orks did you get the warjacks horns and the face from because he wants to do 2 or 3 of these because he really likes the idea of them.

As I already said (at the top of this page in fact), the head and horns are from the banner tops, on the Black orc command sprue. You get two command sprues in one box of black orcs, so not only do you get some excellent models to make 'ard boyz or nobz out of, but you also get two of the heads. And two of the other banner pole top.

Please make sure you read previous posts in full, as it is very irritating to have to restate something that I have already said.

I shall post the models I build/paint every so often in here now, and not just orks.

First up - WIP Khador heavy warjack - will be magnetised so that I can use it as any of the juggernaut based jacks:

Messing with the posing for my Contemptor:

What I kinda plan to do with it, thanks to the wonders of paint:

or

Image

The idea being that the dread is taking stock of the battle situation, pointing where its allies should go, and the left arm is hanging loose at the side. Thanks to the wonders of magnets, I will be able to switch around armaments and suchlike, and hopefully keep the main theme of the pose.

Your use of the Thread Necroomancer card is misplaced - after all, you posted a significant contribution and it was not inane :P

I don't know, it's diverged from the original intent of the thread, and there's no real significant progress on anything, just a load of half started projects...

The first step is to admit you have a problem!

Some nice stuff here, look forward to seeing more.
