Stu's *other* painting projects.

As I've hinted elsewhere, I've got quite a few what I would class as *minor* projects on the go. Some of these have been on the go for years (frog's blood bowl teams being the oldest), whilst others are pretty newish (my blood bowl team wanting repainted). Rather than create a hundred and one threads, I'll try and keep them updated here (and hopefully spend a chunk of time on them while _lis_ is out at her hen party at the weekend - while the missus is away and all that ;) ).

Completed
Frog's Human Bloodbowl Team
Frog's Orc Bloodbowl Team
Human Blood Bowl Team (from the BB Box)
Lugft Huron for Lis' Marines
Tyberos as a Chapter Master for my Bro in Law
High Elf Bloodbowl Team + Moranion
Orc Blood Bowl Team (from the BB Box)
Castellan Crowe
Inquisitor Coteaz
Kor'sarro Khan (Old White Metal Version)
Red Scorpions Vanguard Veteran Squad (Forgeworld kits)
Saint Celestine Conversion

In Progress
Egrimm van Horstmann (rebuild and repair - I originally painted this about 20yrs ago for Lis's mum) - April Competition entry
Inquisitor Lord Karamazov (aka Stalin's Couch)
Grey Knight Terminator Squad
Grey Knight Squad
2 * Penitent Engines
Brother Captain Stern
Vanguard Veteran Squad (Lis' chapter)
Marneus Calgar

Scratch Building
4 * Thunderhawks (Grey Knights, Blood Angel Successor, Imperial Fists, +1 Other)
Blood Bowl Pitch

On the Assembly Tray
Devastator Squad (Undecided whether they will be Red Scorpions or Dark Angels)
Red Scorpions Sternguard Squad

Still in the Box
A whole host of EPIC Space Marines, Eldar, Orks and IG.

Will post up pics as and when I make progress ;)

We have joint project logs for everyone (one for 2010 as a whole and one for each quarter) if you fancy giving yourself targets and posting in those too :D

It'll be good to see some bloodbowl teams. I haven't played the game in years. Looking forward to seeing yours.

Cheers Matt. Will start in there in the next quarter ;)

In the meantime' FINALLY got froggys human + orc teams finished and ready to base. I think I'll let him base them as Im not sure what style he wants ;) Trying to find a good pic to use as a backdrop when I take the piccies tomorrow.....

Human Team is a standard Out-Of-The-Box

Orc Team is Out-Of-The-Box + Ripper Bolgrot, Varag Ghoul Chewer and Scrappa Sorehead (pogo stick dude?)

Taking a bit of a break from the Thunderhawk at the mo, so looking at assembling + spraying my Red Scorpions and maybe starting the High Elves next.

Gaunt is tempting me though!

Right - Finally had an hour to take some pics of where these things are at...

First up are Frogs Blood Bowl teams. They still need based, but we've decided that he is going to do that (and we need to decide a class color scheme for the edges of the bases - will make it easy to play "count's as" games if we want to experiment with other teams)..

And following on from that, the first of my repainted High Elf Team

And that brings this pretty much up to date for the mo. Next up are the rest of the Elf Team, along with Prince Moranion. I've stripped the dragon back and need to clean it prior to re-building / repainting, but that one's further down the line..

The armour on the orcs looks really good.

Cheers Matt

It was a basecoat of chainmail with a couple of fairly heavy badab black washes, followed by a bit of stippled / pooled devlan mud. After that i picked out some very fine highlights with chainmail again to add a bit of contrast.......

Devlan mud works a treat on metal like this.

definately - I've heard it described as "the chuck norris of paints" and I'd be inclined to agree.

Right. Feels like an age since Ive been on this old forum ere ;)

A lot has happened since I last reared my head, but things have settled a bit and I've finally let myself be bitten by the bug **again**. In amongst the crazy 40k and Blood Bowl stuff that I'd already started, I've also picked up some more Blood Bowl teams, Dark Vengeance and a mixed bag of 2nd edition Epic Marines, Orks, Eldar and Guard. Epic was where I spent most of my gaming youth (20k+ armies for marines, guard and ad mech along with smaller ork and eldar contingents) and I've already managed to pull the Mrs and Brother-in-law into my madness (still working on a m8 and my brother, but they will come round in time!)

I've updated the list in the first post, but could really do with a stock-take of where exactly I am with things. A lot of what I was working on Red Scorpion wise was packed up into a box and hasnt come out yet. In the meantime, I've grabbed a few shots of some stuff that's to hand so will get them posted as a taster ;)

FIrst up is part of the catalyst that started all of this off again. A brand spanky new painting station that santa brought me.

Image

Still not big enough for all of the paints, but it's a lot easier to access on the desk and keep things organised ;)

Some older stuff from my last real painting session:

Tyberos

Jump Chaplain

Dreadnoughts

Sisters of Battle

And the more recent Bloodbowl Stuff

With a couple of Work In Progress characters

I'm trying to give myself a couple of sessions a week painting at the mo, with the idea that I'll make steady progress. So fingers crossed ;)

As usual, all comments are welcomed ;)

Cheers
