Normally I do, these have a more, shall we say.... :eusa_pray ....approach

Ironically, the bits that I've had trouble with already have a "jigsaw" fit and would be right pigs to sort a pin out for.

In some cases, I've had to drill right through the outside of a limb to insert the pin (did a Necron Lord on destroyer body for a friend, that model is a bear!), then just cut off and file down the nub.
I agree with Matt, looking forward to all plastic models.
I even bashed together a Kayvaan Shrike from plastic pieces after I saw that the available model was in metal.

wow quick work Baragash.

the best thing about the GT is the way it focuses a hobbyist. Time and time again, i see players made, paint and play a list to the point of knowing it well, due to the deadlines imposed by committing to these events.

My friend chris has never ever painted a full squad of any army he has owned. Now he can't stop. He has prolly painted his 1500points 2x over now. Played 3x a week for the last 2 months, and knows his army quit well now.

I personaly have 4 painted (basic we know) armies now!!! and I was like chris. playing with all greys for years before. it's one of the reasons i keep going to them.

I can't understand what sort of trouble you had with the destroyer lord. none of the metal bits are heavy enough to cause problems. is it the way people play with them, bashing them about?

i made mine easy enough, as far as i recal, but he was one of my 1st metal models some years ago now, part of my 1st army. I wonder if, when they finally update them, I would be drawn back to them, after having sold them all :(

i pinned him, but didn't glue him, incase i wanted to put a destroyer top half back on him.

Hmmm...I've got one here, but I don't recall having any trouble putting it together at all :? (was like 2+ years ago though).

Minor update: Undercoated all but 6 of the plain models from the army photo (of which 3 were having their glue dry and 3 are made up of mixed plain/undercoated parts - but the light was going).

Also went to GW and got the Vindi and CSM box, so I hope to have everything assembled by end of Monday, then I can crack on with the painting.

Not really bashing them. Could be my glue, because I've had problems with other metal models too. The CA alone doesn't seem to want to hold the pieces together. Have tried using CS and CA as well. Doesn't matter too much anymore as I've gotten much better at pinnning the models together. :D

True, I think the only time I've previously had a fully painted army was for Badab War a few years back. Did that in about 2 weeks (was already assembled), standard was "neat".

What happens if there's a chaotic subversion.....universe has a #div!0 error?!

In English, yeah, I assembled my Vindis identically (same for my Rhinos)....

Only 6 CSM to complete assembly (I got screwed over by Channel 5 reception, had to go watch FlashForward in a different room  )

i made a 3 vindi SM list once, even bought another 2 FW vindis to match my 1st one, but never made them or played it.

You have inspired me to finish them and get them on the table now :)

But it will have to be after the end of Nov ;)

Nearly there!

Just Legion shoulder pads and back packs to go, plus GS on the 2nd DP, and bases on these guys and the 2 DPs (subject to maybe decorating the DP bases).

And done.....:)

I caved and added some little bits to the bases:

My FW order arrived in about a week......the down side is that means I should really assemble another Rhino :(

I think I'll crack on with the army and think about that a bit later in the process.

That front left csm (second in from left) seems to be in a really nice pose.
Did you have to do anything to get that (mismatch hands, resculpt legs or anything), or did id just come straight out the pack ready for it? (Very like)
Think the pile of bones will be good on bases (i'm all about the trophies now..I have seen the light)
Might be being ignorant but don't understand how any packages from FW that turn up complete and not melted could ever lead to a frowny face :D
Keep it up..
I wanna face you again :D

Straight out of the box, kinda got lucky that the more extended arm happened to be picked out for the pair of legs, then when I realised it was simply a case of positioning the head.

Ordered a Rhino so I'll probably try and get that done. Raining outside at the moment so I can't undercoat the Vindis and the based CSM, so time to base the DPs/Icons/SW and hand-undercoat the 4 CSM that I resurrected from the bad ole days of white undercoats (about '96) :?

From left to right:
Haan'kee'paan'kee, Daemon Prince of Slaanesh
Vongor's Reavers, Black Legionnaires
Unnamed Vindi
Unnamed Obliterators
Brotherhood of Dystopia, Plague Marines
Unnamed Vindi
Unnamed Black Legionnaires
Unnamed Daemon Prince

I will be naming them all, just haven't got that far yet.

On a side note, I did knock Belakor off the table whilst doing this, and despite being unpinned no damage was done. Strangely, the Champ (Vongor himself) only fell over on the table and his backpack came off :?

The Dark Gods are toying with me obviously
