40k Campaign - Spring Awakening

Postby paulmc » Thu Mar 05, 2015 1:33 pm

I know this has been discussed before without coming to fruition but I'm looking at running a 40k Campaign at the club and I wanted to gauge the level of interest. I've got a few ideas for a narrative based campaign but before I can put anything down I need to know how many people would want to play and what armies they would use. Ideally there will be enough interest to have two sides fighting it out.Basically it would be an escalating campaign over four rounds so you would be committing to play four games over a period of 1-2 months.
I want to keep it quick and depending on how it goes we can try bigger campaigns later. Once I get some idea of who wants to join in I will post more details. All I need for now is a reply to this thread with your name and army if you're interested. Please pass this on to anyone you know who would be interested and get them on the forums.
I will give a deadline of a week to see who wants in and go from there

If there's enough interest (and the right mix of armies) the plan was to start at 500 points and go up 500 points each round - escalation campaign
Nothing definate yet until I know how many armies
So far there's four players in, if there was no further interest I would start at 1000 points
I will let you know for sure when we see who wants to play

It'll be Tau then as I'll not have time to paint enough Blood Angels units to make them viable.

Anybody else want to join in with the campaign. So far we have space wolves, orks, grey knights, necrons and tau. I know several others expressed an interest last Thursday so spread the word and join in.
Nik there's no restrictions on having all painted but there will be a vote on best painted army at the end of the campaign so you have a little time to finish

Tundrik as long as you know the basics you're more than welcome to join in, it could be a good way to learn the game as all of the players are really helpful and i found when I started playing again that playing different armies tought me more about the game. If there's enough players I will try to include a team element so you won't be entirely on your own

Simon (who plays me and Pete some times at club) would like to join in with his Eldar. I'll ask Richard as well when I see him next. When are you thinking of starting. I doubt I'll be down tonight as I'm feeling rough as a dog.
