Hello Smoggster

If you can get Thursdays 7:00 to 11 free pop into the Clarendon on the High Street.
We play in the Back Room, you can just turn up to watch what’s going on and see if its your sort of thing.
Ask for Chris, Gavin, Nigel or Alan and one of us will be able to have a chat.
Do you have any 40k at the moment?
What kind of army you interested in?
Is it 40K you want to play?
We play 40k Fantasy and Flames of War(ww2) predominately at the moment but are looking to get more gaming systems into the club so were happy to support whatever people want to do, as such we sometimes have a great variety of games on the go.
Another thing to do is pop into the Redcar Branch of PCtech and ask for Gavin. He’s normally there every day except Thursdays I think and he likes to talk and Im sure he will be able to advise.

On a personal note if you are interested in 40k and are looking for a quick start Ive got a couple of Armies that are pretty much straight out of the box that Im looking to sell, so you may be able to get a cheap starter Army.

Feel free to PM me with any questions etc

Chris.

Not Started WarMachine yet but only because we have no one at the club who plays it. Im always on the look for a reason to start a new game system though so if youre realy intrested Im sure we can arrange something.
Blood Angels will do fine as they've just been re-issued. If you can get hold of the new codex you'll probably find that you have enough models already. We dont mind if there not painted or even not built as long as you make sure your opponent is aware of whats what.
We mainly play at 1750pts but if thats a bit daunting turn up next thursday and arrange a smaller game with one of the Guys.
We normally try and post on the forum here to arrange games but only if we remember. Unfourtunatley Ive got a game next week or I'd have offered.
You may be able to persuade Alan or Nigel to give you a game.

hi simon, my name is nigel and if you want a game when you turn up, just let me have a points limit for the game and we can have a game. hope to see you soon sir ;)

chris' idea of getting a copy of the latest blood angels army book is sound. if you would rather just come to the club to visit first, bring the book and i can offer some guidence on building a list for you to try the following week.

Hi just to say had fun last night. I have rooted out all of my 40k models this is a list (no points as cant find it in rulebook)
1xrhino
1xdreadnought
12xdeath company troops
1xchaplain
1xapothacary
1xlibrarian
1xtechmarine
10xterminators
1xterminator squad leader

and 3 others cant find on list
2x inquisitors in terminator armour (must have stopped using them in game)
1xcaptian in terminator armour (must have stopped using them in game)

Anyone who can point it up for me please and find out if the odd 3 are even still usable, cheers. will try bring them all in on thursday 28th.

Points costs are in the codexes, not in the rulebook. Points will depend upon which codex is used (I assume you're using Blood Angels given the Death Company reference?), and what weapon/wargear options are taken. Roughly the above with no unit options will be just over 1000pts - using the chaplain as a Reclusiarch (HQ) as the Elites will be filled with Terminator squad, Techmarine, and Sanguinary Priest (apothecary).

You've got enough models for a small force with a few options, but you have no scoring units (Death Company are troops but not scoring and have to be fielded as a single unit, Dreadnought would have to be a Death Company Dreadnought to fill the second compulsory troops slot). You'd also have a spare terminator as you can't get 11 (10 + squad leader) into a single unit, and you've got no spare Elites to have two small terminator squads unless you drop the techmarine or the priest.

As to the other 3 models:

Inquisitors can be found the Grey Knights and Witch Hunters codexes (and Daemonhunters, although that has been replaced by the GK codex), if have the printed WH codex they can be taken as allies to a Blood Angels list (the PDF version on the GW site now removes the allies rules preventing this, and when the Sisters of Battle codex is released the WH one will be obsolete) although to take both you'd need to take one as a Lord (which means you'd need to find 3 more models to make up a minimum retinue) and one as an Elite, but you've already filled those slots with the rest of your force so there's no way to take all the models together, at least not when using Blood Angels.

The captain in terminator armour is a HQ choice in a Blood Angels list - take a Captain, choose the option to replace armour and weapons with Terminator Armour :) It's 140pts without weapon options, but you've already filled your HQ slots with the rest of your models.

Simon, points costs are now in individual army books detailing all points costs and special rules for that army, no longer one rulebook for everything unfortunately. I will bring my BA codex with me Thursday for you to look through, if you have a list of what you have available we can look at building a list for you.
