NECA Predators, Iron Man, and more

Re: Predators

The dip wasn't much use, so tonight I gave the bones a wash of Graveyard Earth watered down, leaving it darker in the recesses especially the cheeks, between the vertebrae, and the coccyx.

Once dry I then thinned since Red Gore and washed everything, again trying to keep the recesses darker. Finally I washed it all with an old pot of Red Ink.

The photos don't show how it looks in real life. I'm reasonably happy with it, and it's achieved what I set out to do.

I'll take pics tomorrow with the Predators holding it, but I'll probably clear coat it first just to make sure the red doesn't rub off as the ivory coat is a satin finish rather than matt.

EDIT: better pics will have to wait till tomorrow when I can take some in natural daylight.

Damn autocorrect :) Not that it changed it from the correct spelling, but for it not suggesting the correct spelling to my obvious error!

On a lighter note, here's what happens when the IT director decides to try out the 3D printer with something a little less industrial.

Not a Predator, but I bought this for my wife. It's the same size as the Predators. Still not sure where to put it on the shelves yet, more pics to come.

Again not a Predator, but I accidentally ordered a NECA 1/4 scale Iron Man Mark VII limited edition figure ... :). Should be here in the next 7 days, will post pics when it arrives. Due to space constraints, ie not enough shelf space, I'll probably go with a "on one knee punching the ground after just landing" pose and squeeze it on to the one spare bookshelf top.

Was almost put off by reviews complaining about the LEDs on the hands being orange instead of white, but I watched Avengers again yesterday and his hands are orange in the Mk VII. Once it arrives and I've made sure it's in good condition I'll post a review up on Amazon pointing out that the orange is in fact correct on this figure - oh no, I'm becoming an action figure nerd!

NECA have also released the same figure as the Mark 21 Midas suit but I wanted one in the red and gold colours. There's also a battle damaged version without helmet but the face isn't too good, and would have ended up to trying to source a 3rd party light up helmet or print one myself so wouldn't have saved much, if any, in the long run.
