Space Hulk Q&A

Postby timewizard » Tue Sep 29, 2009 5:50 pm

The first Space Hulk "FAQ" is out on GW's site, here.
Funny, they are calling it a Q&A instead of an FAQ.
Wonder if that's a sign of things to come.
Anyway, couple of clearifications.

It might say Q&A in the PDF, but the filename has FAQ in it :P

I still don't really see the point in it though, the Space Hulk rules are quite simple. What next, people asking for FAQs for Monopoly?

Q. When you pass go, must you collect $200? Can you take less?
A. You must collect $200 when passing Go, whether you want to or not.

Well that's not as comprehensive as my warseer one!
I'll add any "official" answers and publish.
And they are just copying me with their "Q&A" ;)

Remember Matt, imitation is the greatest form of flattery!
Would be nice if they shared royalties with you though!

PS-Thanks for the work you put in on all these FAQs! :icon_thumright

There was some controversy among my friends in Monopoly. There was a card (can't remember if it was Chance or Community Chess) that said you would move immediately to Go and collect $200. The Go space says you collect $200 when you pass so some would treat that as two events meaning you would get $400 total.

Seventy plus years and still no FAQ.

Hasbro does let you bits order the pieces though. ;)

I'd whack the player with a bundle of £500 toy town money notes. As for bits, I doubt you can order OOP pieces, just the current range...

My favourite one of those.. that I use occassionally in rules disputes, is that I've played a few snakes and ladders games that don't define entry and exits points.. without this info do you fall down on any square that touchs the snakes body and go up on any square that goes under a ladder.
Just shoddy rules with some games..meaning you houserule it :D
Barely even lurking..

Makes one wonder how children can possibly get through a game of it.
Shame they can't have a full and comprehensive, well written and thought out ruleset that leaves no doubt or room for interpretation, like 40K

well that told me!

I did mean older versions of monopoly though. They change the style of the cards and playing pieces (even going to cheap plastic tokens)
My family still has a set over 30 years old (and complete, just slightly dog eared) that had metal tokens and we had bits of an older set that had wooden houses and hotels. Thinking about it, we still have the Cluedo set of the same age. The murder weapons in that are metal too, with the rope being thick string.

The warseer Q&A v1.0 is now available as a sticky on the SH forum page. I added the GW Q&As and also some that JJ posted on boardgamegeek in addition to the warseer answers we already had.
