The counter has finally arrived
next step is to hollow out the resin counter that came with the kit and fit the number wheels from the mechanical counter. I'm also going to try to transplant the toothed wheels as these will help prevent the number wheels from spinning when moving the blaster.
The counter is larger than the resin version, and the numbers are 5mm wider overall than the Hengstler 400 used in the movie version, so it can't be used without modification. There wheels will need about 1mm taking off each to get them closer, this should be easy enough to do as there is a gap between them already.
First thing to do was to make an outer casing matching the dimensions if the resin counter. I had some 1.5mm black plasticard kicking around, so cut out 5 rectangles. One of these then had a slot cut out where the clear plastic will be fitted.
Next I'll be trimming the internal case for the counter so that it will fit inside the outer case, with the intention to cut the resin one in half and attach the mechanical counter to the front half. Hopefully I'll post updates later.
