Logo Test

Postby Spack » Sun Aug 24, 2008 7:52 pm

The logo is temporarily being replaced with a test logo. I wanted to see whether it would look ok on the site, and bring the site logo and dice/t-shirt logo into some sort of coherency. I'm still not sure that it works, and I might tinker some more later.

looks good - thumbs up from me and Kate. :D

maybe it could do with being more centralised in the area that its in (i.e. move it away from the left of the screen towards the google ads)?

cheers :)

Or you could used the space..shift some links up there..shuffle titles around to have a second ad bar (just one big badge\link for kings lot)
It looks nice but yes as tim says one way or another that gap looks a little lonely

I like the look of the new logo. And I agree that it could stand to be moved to the right a little bit. All the tweaks look good so far.

It looks like the map of the US too! (If we get rid of Michican, Wisconsin, New England, Florida, Texas, most of the southern states, a few more bits and pieces  )

I agree with KInG. the new logo design looks unbalanced.

OTOH the 'improved' map of oz looks cool (I've got relos in Tassie - IMO we can just cut the island free and be better off.

Looks more like AoS on a flattened 'mercator' projection of antarctica, though.

Why did nobody make the Australia comment when I was doing to the dice or the t-shirt? I've used the dice template file to create the test logo :(

As to balance, I'd be looking to change the right hand side too. First up would be to make the link font larger, and to add a few more links.

I've tinkered a little more this morning, right now I'm just trying random things to see how they look.

well i liked it...

have you thought about putting it in the middle of the top of the screen (above "Age of Strife: Forums"), and then have an ad on either side (one side scrolling through the non-paying ads, the other side for google ads)?

that said, there is nothing 'wrong' with the old logo, TBH. :)

The only reason I was considering switching the logo was to bring everything with a logo into line. I can't change the dice or the already printed t-shirts, but the site is simple enough once a logo is designed as it's just a file on the server. But you're right, we could just stick to the current logo for now.
