New rules development forum?

Postby Spack » Thu Oct 25, 2007 9:03 am

Rather than having the homebrew posts in the General forum, should we have a Rules Development forum (or Homebrew Rules, or some other name) to post these to? If you have any other name suggestions just post a reply.

What would fall into it?
The community project bits?, my thread for apocolypse (datasheet and house rules)and puddsy's ones on unit design? Not many threads, I'm not sure mine has that much of a shelf life. But I'm up for giving it a whirl for a month or two and then seeing if we need it or not.
As an alternative, what exactly is the difference between general and anything goes ? just call me Agent Provocateur

plus theres Will's Serpent thread, and anything else we cook up with with the VDR/TDR, as well as special scenarios etc (ive got to work on my ideas for Halloween soon - although friends visiting next week will probably push our game back a bit).

General is part of the 40K forum, while Anything Goes exists outside that (a bit like the difference between 40K General and Random Musings on Warseer).

i say go for it - i dont think it can do any harm (and may promote more ideas). unlike Warseers Rules Dev "ghetto", i dont think posts will be missed/ignored due to them not being in 40K General, as we have the "Recent Topics" list that lets us to keep track of everything that goes on. :D

I'd say put new units and their rules into the Community Development forum, since it would make it easier for my team to figure out which options to put in a poll. ;)
Sisters of Battle are the redheaded, barefoot, and naked stepchildren, of Games Workshop, living down by the river, eating government cheese, in a van.

Given that most, if not all, of these will be for existing models, it may not be that useful for the modelling projects.
