New Swag?

Postby Ben » Thu Sep 11, 2008 3:44 pm

Has anyone thought of future AoS type merchandise? The dice were great and kudos to thinking that up.

Maybe we want to wait a bit for budget reasons but has anyone any ideas on what would be good in the future?

Figure cases? I am not a big fan of this as it is a major investment and the B&C one costs so much I can get 2 Sabols for that price.

More shirts? I have one and I think a lot of the other guys do also. I am not cool enough (or Chav enough) to order a hoodie.

Dice Bags? I currently use two bags that came with my son's pirate costume for last year. I would not mind an AoS bag but I don't know if others would want one.

Templates? We could get AoS branded multi-templates. We can even get them in green acrylic so they look like the GW ones. I think an Apocalypse multi-template may be a bit pricey as an 18 by 24 sheet is $13.

Anyone more creative than I have ideas?

Mugs, badges(pin and sew on), baseball caps, jackets, keyrings, car stickers, humerous car stickers ie,

"My dice are not loaded, I'm just using k!nGs!" or

"looks like a load of cheese on 25mm bases to me! :( "

Is there anyone out there who can sculpt???

How about an aos chess set, featuring the members!

Possibly a lord malek knight, a ruffian pawn, a kmb bishop (he moves in mysterious ways) and a king queen???

Or a squad of aos last chancers???

Timewizard as a grizzled ateptus arbites, spack as a techy know wots and ben as a stymied smuggler???

Mugs, badges, umbrellas, even a dog t-shirt (yes, a t-shirt for dogs, jeez) are avaliable from Spreadshirt and certainly possible - I just need to supply a small enough design file.

I just need to work out what you mugs ... er, respectable gamers ... will be tempted to buy. Actually, dammit, I'll buy myself a mug. I'll try to sort a logo out ASAP and enable it to have whatever text you like on it, with a few already picked out - and I'm stealing "My other mug plays 40K" for one of them :)

i think T-shirts can wait til the '09 meetup, although Dan already knows i am interested in dice bags.

i am trying to work on something top secret (not even Dan knows what it is yet :P) but so far i have hit a couple of stumbling blocks. will keep at it though...

and yes, as Matt said, suggestions are most welcome. :)

{Excerpt from AoS Chess rules}
"The TW piece moves in a random direction, but moves slowly.
The ruffian pawn can only be captured by another ruffian pawn.
The KMB Bishop doesn't capture pieces, it excommunicates them and then burns them at the stake."

Put me down for 1 set please!
