heres a suggestion:

when filling in a Search Query, could it be set up so you can find members in the "Search for Author:" box (using a dropdown that narrows down a list of members as you type the name, like on Warseer)?

if thats possible, i think that would be a definate improvement (rather than having to copy/paste names etc).

p.s. another point, although its very minor: would it be possible to switch the default "Display results as:" option to "Posts" (rather than "Topics")? or maybe give each user the the ability to "make these my default Search Options" (etc)?
i find it really annoying when i do a Search but forget to switch it over manually every time first...

I'll look into changing the default (should be simple enough), but for the list to pick out matching names as you type that might require a lot more work and some ajax.
