I took it off, it was hardly used and it was distracting. If enough people want it back I can put it back, but I'm happy enough to leave it off.

i liked it... would it be possible to have it, but only on the front page?

that way when you log onto the site you see all the shout-outs to different people and pick up any little messages on it etc, but once you go past the front page it wont be a distraction.

it made the place seem very sociable and friendly, IMO - a good first impression.

As the forum no longer has a left nav area, adding it back to their is easy enough. I'll put it back on for now.

Nooooo Shout boxes are kinda pointless.

Upload a java irc client and stick a link to it in the header. If people want to chat leave them use that.

There is in the main nav, but not on the forum page!
