Whoah whats that spack it links me to this page, but I'm in this page (existensial)

EDIT
Could you not just create a thing that adds to writing in a box, where the background and type font are black using unicode or something?
Sorry if it seemed a push, i always enjoy small trips around the web

kmb, I'm still testing!

Bugger, it only works if there is one spoiler in the entire page. I'll look at another way of handling it.

Nope KMB, that's for phpBB3 - we're on phpBB2 here. I've almost got it, just for some reason the static variable isn't keeping it's value from call to call. I'll sort it in a mo, and then tidy up this thread.

OK, sorted it - you can now use the [ spoiler ] blah blah [ /spoiler ] tags (without the spaces inside the tags, that's just so that it'll show them in this post)

cool. testing:

Spoiler: show
wooo spoilers

EDIT: when i click it i get taken to the top of the page, and at the bottom left (Internet Explorer) i get "Error on page" - it doesnt show the hidden part. :( could you make it so you can hover over a spoiler to read it (like you can hover over an abreviation to see the definition)?

now hows about adding it to the list of buttons above the text box when writing a post (next to Quote and Code)? ;)

cheers mate! ive said it before but il say it again ('cos its still true): this place gets better every day. :D

I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted, it would be fine in a single post but not spread over multiple posts. Tim, your suggestion of the glossary was perfect, I've made the change and hopefully it'll work fine.

I'll look at adding the button later once you've tested the new code for me ;)

its working in this thread - im just off to try it in Torchwood. :)

right, its working, but when the spoiler content is quite long the box that comes up spills off the screen (see the second spoiler here). could you fix it so it only puts a certain number of characters/words per line in the box, so you can read it all?

cheers :)

I've adjusted it so that the spoiler popup is 400 pixels wide, which should cope with most situations. I can't see anything else I can do with the existing tooltip code that I'm using, but if I think of something I might revise it.

is there any limit set for the height of the box? (probably best not to have one)

cheers mate! :)

There shouldn't be a height limit, it should resize to the content to be shown.
