This is the date the forum index page thinks the last post happened in the Battle Reports section...

Odd. I'll look into it, that date is what happens when the "last_post_id" in the forum header refers to a post that no longer exists - this should only occur if someone posted and then deleted their post, but for some reason the delete didn't complete fully and update the forum header row.

Does this mean that at 1:00 am on Jan 01, 1970 absolutely nothing happened?

It means that the PHP designers decided that a value of 0 for a date is Jan 01, 1970 0:00 GMT, and as we are at +1 for BST that's why you 1:00am.

I've fixed the Battle Reports forum header. Someone had definitely posted a new topic and then deleted it, but as the topic had been deleted I have no idea who it was. I will be watching ...

Oooh Hand up in air with red face.. that could have been me 3 weeks back.
I posted a moan rep and then thought better of it (although most people still read it) ..a lot of bits and bobs "Mr6 then decided he'd recieve a 1+ auto save for cover" stuff so I deleted it after a few hours.
Sorry everyone (if it was, as I suspect, me)

So if we delete a whole thread you can't track it...isn't that a bit odd?

It's not your fault - it's phpBB! I've just discovered that there's nothing the delete_post function that updates the last_post_id in the forum header table if the current last_post_id no longer refers to an existing post. I'm writing and testing a fix now, so apologies if posting is a little flakey in the next few mins.

When I get a new server sorted I'll upgrade to the latest version - or maybe move to an alternative like vBulletin.

UPDATE: The bug has been fixed, new code has been added to update the last post id for the forum table when a post is deleted. For most forums this was a short lived issue - as soon as another post was made in the forum the header row would be updated with the new last post id and nobody would be any the wiser. The issue has only shown up due to the batreps forum being pretty quiet, to the point that nobody had posted since KMB's short lived post was removed. At least it shouldn't happen again in the future.
