Army builder ditches yearly subs requirement

Postby killmaimburn » Sun Aug 04, 2013 12:28 pm

I'm surprised with all the ab40k crossover we have here that I read this over at kirbys site first .. but yeah
Wolflair are ditching the requirement to pay yearly fees to keep your armybuilder license.. now buy once keep forever (which was a massive reason I didn't buy 3rd)..
http://www.3plusplus.net/2013/08/army-b ... er-expire/
is kirbys blog mention of it.. but I'm sure peeps here have lots to say about it too.
It does actually make me look at 3rd ed a bit now. (I must be their target audience)

So what happens to existing licences - do they still expire (spot the lazy person not following links)?

From what I read, if your license is current, it never expires anymore.

If your license is currently expired, it will have to be renewed, then it will also never expire.

Absatively chronomage.... but I guess for completeness peeps might wish for the *magic date* and apparent email, so i'll shove them up too (busy day -taken from above link from 3++.. can spack jlong et al confirm they received something similar??)

The following is from an email I received from Lone Wolf Development a couple of days ago

ARMY BUILDER 15th ANNIVERSARY CHANGES

It's hard to believe, but Army Builder is 15 years old this summer! To celebrate the occasion, we've been taking a close look at the feedback you've been giving us, and are pleased to announce some changes that we think will be welcomed by everyone.

All new licenses purchased henceforth will never expire. All existing licenses that are active on **August 1st, 2013**, will similarly never expire. Army Builder licenses that are expired on August 1st can be renewed to that date and will thereafter never expire. All future updates to Army Builder 3 will be free to all users with unexpired licenses.

We hope these changes will let even more people enjoy Army Builder than before, including the upcoming “Army Builder Roster Viewer for iPad and iPhone”.

EDIT Faeit answered quicker than you lot. :P I'm going on a busmans holiday to places people game.
