Death Korps of Krieg

Postby Spack » Fri Oct 12, 2018 6:16 pm

Finally picked up paints to get started on my Death Korps army that has been sitting in boxes for years.

I decided to dig out a Firing infantry squad, and use them as a test for my paint scheme. Starting with a grey primer, the coats were painted with Ultramarine Blue, leather with Mournfang Brown, pack rolls, leg wraps and masks with Steel Legion Drab, lasguns with Rhinox Hide and Leadbelcher, and helmets and shoulders with Abaddon Black.

Once these were dry the blue was washed with Drakenhof Nightshade, and everything else with Agrax Earthshade.

After leaving for a few days, the base colours were thinly painted over the washed surfaces, and Eshin Grey on the helmets and shoulder armour. These are now being left to dry fully before highlighting, and adding brass details such as buttons and the eagle on the helmets.

Thanks. I'll be prepping some tanks next for the DK, already modified an old Leman Russ turret to be larger and have the barrel and cupola offset like the FW Gryphonne turrets, plus a Conqueror style battlecannon. Needs some filler and detailing before I paint it though.

Canis Rex is ready for paint first, undercoated the body and armour today ...
