Assault on BR boxed set

Postby reaver13 » Sat Jul 26, 2008 5:57 pm

I think there was a post already but I didn't see it, about trading the contents of the Black Reach boxed set. Anyone interested in trading their space marines for orks? If so send me a PM or reply here. Thanks.

to anyone buying 2 (or more!) of the boxed sets, i would be looking to acquire one of the Rulebooks (UK prefered, in order to keep postage down).

cheers :)

I will have a spare book. I guess I can sell/trade it. I would however prefer a US trade/sale as its cheaper on postage. Although a sale would have the buying paying post so I guess that ain't so bad.

As I said in the 5th thread.. I think I might jump at this one..
quick question who will be cheaper (inc post to notts) Matt or King...I'm kind of assuming Matt because as sole purchase it won't go into the bracket for extra bargainousnous of Kings rules?
Feel free to PM with expected prices (inc post and VAT etc) :D If I bought 2 and let the vendor keep the 2nd rule book would that get me super super extra extra discounty goodness matt?

As a side point..how many points is that ork contents? If for example I bought one (then offered to put in on someone elses to buy off their orks pre binning would that be around 1000 points? Conservative estimates of minimal a wargear for each ork thing (and warboss not getting abike etc) would make it around 500 points in a box )

not wanting to speak for King, but i was under the impression that Warseer members (such as yourself) automatically qualified for the 5% bonus discount (although im not sure whether that is 5% of the RRP or 5% of the already reduced price).

hope that helps :)

Might be interested in 1 (partial trade for smurfs(-the dreadnought) + topped up with cash) but I'd rather wait until september to see what i actually get (whether I get it 8O ) before I haggle too many secondary trades..so erm..ignore this post I guess

Silly question, can anyone find anywhere (either on GW or on warseer) where they state what options are available for the models..
e.g. is the dreadnought just a asscan CCW, or does it come with its other options too.
Do the tactical squad (and boyz) come with a standard loadout of weapon options to choose from like if bought seperately..or are they click fit with only 1 option.....
(I know gift horse and mouth but given the number I wish to purchase is fairly heavily based on my need to grab some dreadnoughts ..(you'll see their loss at the weekend)Its a factor (not the biggest but A)
Anyone find out?

(My teeny tiny nightmare is a click fit dreadnought that I then can't buy other arms to fit)

Looking at the sprue here: http://warseer.com/forums/attachment.ph ... 1213510418

The Dread has a Multimelta + CCW, no other weapons. The marines are a sarge with chainsword, 3 marines with boltguns, 1 marine with missile launcher, 1 marine with flamer, 1 terminator with stormbolter + ccw/powerweapon, 1 captain with bolter + ccw/powerweapon. There are no spare weapons at all.

Full set of sprues here: http://warseer.com/forums/attachment.ph ... 1217185050 and http://warseer.com/forums/attachment.ph ... 1217185050

The middle sprue shows 2 more termies, these with storm bolter + power fist, and 2 more marines with bolters. As there are no marines on the 3rd sprue, it would suggest that you get 2 of the 2nd sprue giving you 1 dread, 5 termies, 10 marines, 1 captain. No spare weapons, and due to the way they are moulded the bolters have the hands on and so you'd have trouble using bits to arm them differently, and the captain has his bolter moulded as part of his front.

Looking at the dreadnought it should be able to take other spare Dreadnought arms as it has the same arm mounts as the normal plastic Dread.

The orks are the same - single weapon loadout per model, no options.

Cheers spack...tis as I feared.. with the Mr6 weasel of asspam attachments and such it looks like I will need to try bitz box to ever have an imperial dreadnought with basic load out

Depending on the price, have you considered the FW weapons for dreadnoughts? You could ring WHW and ask them to get some in for you to pick up next weekend, although it might be a bit too close to the time for them to be able to if they don't have any in stock already. The Assault Cannon is £6.

Bitzbox.co.uk are out of asscannons but would be £4 from them including postage. Wookiehole would be £5.50 including postage (I think, that's using the OOTB postage cost).

Wolflord Havoc tried calling FW yesterday to order some bits for collection next weekend - he was told it was too late but that he could order when he was there and would get free P&P.

It's also worth ringing WHW direct - they do keep a small stock of FW stuff on site, last time I went the pre-order we'd arranged had the wrong Cadian upgrade packs in and they went into the back of the GW store and picked up a pack of the correct ones for me, as well as Inquisitor Lok that was missing from the FW box. They won't have a full range of kits, but they might well have a few of the smaller ones as they sell them from the GW store on site.
