FW Brass-etched Eagles

Postby LordMalekTheRedKnight » Mon Jul 14, 2008 7:12 pm

Hey all :)

i want to get some of FW's Brass-etched Imperial Eagles(Product Code BR-40K-A-001) to decorate Terrain.

i was wondering whether:
1) anyone had any spare they wanted to sell
2) someone wanted to go halves with me on a sheet when we go to WHW (they are £8 and we could split them 50/50)
:?:

EDIT: i just payed attention to the dimensions on the site - these sheets are tiny!! 8O definately not worth £8 IMO, so i doubt i will be buying any new now. :(
if i cant get any unwanted ones 2nd hand then i will probably just try and see what i can do with the CoD stuff.

if you are able to help, please post in this thread or PM me.

cheers! :)

~ Tim

i was under the impression that you could phone ahead and arrange to pickup FW items at WHW?

(i also need Tallarn Snipers anyway)

EDIT - ah yes, here it is:
PURCHASING FORGE WORLD ITEMS
We carry a limited amount of Forge World items, mainly for Warhammer 40,000. If you want to collect something from us and it is a specific item you could call the store ahead of your visit (normally about 2 weeks notice will suffice) to let us know what you want and we can order it in so that it will be ready for you.

hope that helps :)

Tim, if you go to your home supply store soon look at the weedkillers. There is one here called "Root Kill" which is basically copper sulfate. You can mix that with water and it will etch brass, tin, zinc, and copper.

I can put together an article on how to build a brass etch kit if you want.

i just wanted some nice neat uniform detailed Imperial Eagles that i could stick to my terrain (Amera etc). dont really mind what they are made of (plasticard would do), im just a bit worried about tracing/cutting them out myself. cheers though :)

EDIT: i thought there were some in the CoD box, but looking at pics of the sprues i cant find any. :(
i have the ones off the top of the pylon things from the BFM set, but they are a bit small... does anyone know where i can find any more?
:?:

Tim-How about these (5th ones down from the top). A little pricey though at $1.29 each.

Those you might have to make yourself! Could be a simplified version, or you could print the template images on cardstock, cut out the outline of the templates, and paint the interior sections.

i was thinking of using the templates (that you kindly PM'd me) and printing them onto card, then scoring the lines between the separate sections (like the feet are separate from the body etc) as deep as i can, to get a 3-D effect...

need to get my printer fixed first though... (and i need to wait for the terrain to arrive LOL).

cheers :)

keep the suggestions coming guys!

LMtRK:
Have pinched this image(for reference purposes only) :

Image

Using said image, please decide which eagles(and how many) you would prefer, and I'll see if they're still on the frame.

i dont really mind which i get, although the bigger the better (any is better than none, as long as the price is right). how much do you want for them? :)

cheers
