Testing the Waters - Anyone wanna buy some Eldar?

Postby Basilius » Mon May 24, 2010 3:41 pm

Hi all,

I am looking to sell off a fair old wack of my 40K collection - mainly stuff that I will almost certainly never paint and will probably seldom play, especially since I am now getting into Flames of War.

Last year I put together a little over 2K worth of Eldar. Most has been assembled, but there are some mint unopened boxes as well. About 20 minis have been painted in Aspect or Alaitoc colours.

Now, I am away from home and my old lists, but IIRC the actual collection goes something like this...

3 x War Walker armed with 2 x Scattler Lasers Each (95% assembled but unpainted)
2 x Wind Serpants armed with Bright Lances (95% assembled but unpainted)
2 x Boxes of Striking Scorpions (8 assembled, 6 painted)
1 x Box of Fire Dragons (assembled)
3 x Boxes Rangers (1 NIB, 1 assembled & undercoated, 1 painted)
1 x Box Dire Avengers (assembled, some painted)
1 x Box Guardian Defenders (assembled)
1 x Box Warp Spiders (assembled and undercoated - 1 extra WS in this squad - got the whole lot off ebay)
1 x Harlequin Troupe made up of the Basic Troupe Box + Shadowseer + 4 extra Harlequins w/kisses (all in boxes/blisters)
1 x Warlock (painted)
2 x Farseers (1 painted, 1 unpainted)
1 x Autarch w/ Mandi-blasters, fusion gun, warp generator pack (assembled, unpainted)

Thats actually pretty much all - I think I have it all correct. The painting I would define as a good table top standard - not award winning, but better than 2 colours and a wash. There should be a pic of one of the striking scorpions on the Armageddon Unlimited forum from last year some time - search my posts.

Is there anybody here who would be interested in buying a ready-to-go Eldar army themed around Craftworld Alaitoc? If so, what would be a fair price, including shipping?

And if noone here is interested, how would you advise I market this army on ebay? In its entirety or break it up into its components?

Thanks for your time.

If you go down the eBay route, definitely sell it unit by unit. You'll get a lot more watchers and bidders simply because there will be more people looking for single units than there are who want to buy a complete army. Just make sure to include a discount on postage for people who win multiple items, that way they're also more inclined to bid on other items you're offering if they want a few units.
