The Spack appreciation society!!!

Postby Herne » Sun Aug 10, 2008 8:16 pm

After the amazing warhammer weekend, attended by many of the members of the age of strife web community, I felt it was only right and proper to thank Spack for all his hard work, and the thrashing both hs telephone and credit card got, for organising the whole thing!

We are a fraternity of gamers, bought together by our love of gaming and the Warhammer 'experience.' This weekend was, however, more than that. Over 20 gamers came together from all over the country, and in some cases world, to play our favourite pastime. Those gamers were united by not only their love of the hobby, but by their enjoyment of this web-site.

We played hard, laughed hard, and in some cases drank hard. We made new friends. We set future challenges and promises of meet ups. We learnt new aspects of the game, and appreciated finer nuances of the rules. All of this was possible because of Age of Strife - and the man who put it together and runs it. He has worked incredibly hard to put on the weekend, and has gone well above the call of duty.

Spack - thank you. :D

A BIG MASSIVE thanks to you SPACK - you put in a lot of hard work and effort and it very much appreciated by all on the site and especially those who were at Warhammer World over the last few days.

Nice to meet you too :D I'm far too tired to go through and label right now, the weekend has done me in :P, I thought I would get them up quick for the people who weren't able to make it.

Well done for organising it all Dan - I know it all landed on your plate but I think you handled it admirably. I think everyone had a great weekend – I know I did. It was great to meet everyone and put names to faces.

I hope we have started something regular!

I just showed Louise the group picture above; she decided the collective noun for us lot must be a "gaggle" of geeks.

A big thank you to Dan, for organising the great weekend I have just had.
Had 4 fantastic games over the last 2 days. All of which were played in the manner 40K is meant to be played(in good fun and with appauling dice rolls) :(

Thanks again to Dan and everyone involved.

Whens the next one???

Cheers Dan for the great weekend.

Also I feel a massive pat on the back should go to Dan for organising and keeping track of Slate, now that's a real challenge.

Slate, kindly re-enacted the pavement scene for us this morning. And I quote him "Best tarmac ever".

Though I wasn't able to attend :( I would like to thank everyone involved in organizing such an event. The effort put forth by everyone who organized and attended the event is appreciated for it shows your dedication to the game and the comraderie that it endears. I hope that this happens again and I will be able to attend at some point in the future. :)

Aside: Looks like Seth is already a little 'Eadbanger. Must have been some good music playing at the time. :D

From the photos, it seems to me that fun was had by all. Hopefully next time I will be able to attend.
