AoS Competition #1 - Command Centre

Postby Spack » Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:29 am

I've started roughing out my Command Centre Objective Marker for the competition. First WIP pic is up already - nothing glued, and a few things might get moved around, but I'm happy with the general layout. I've gone with a 60mm base and parts from my bits boxes, no new parts will be bought specifically for this and only rubble (sprue cutoffs and sand) and a little GS (that bit is secret for now ;)) will be added. It will represent a temporary command post for my air cav IG, hastily setup in part of a ruined building.

First WIP pic is here, don't click it if you don't want to know what I'm building.

Good news has already come of this - the long lost sprue of spare defiler legs was discovered in the middle of my box of ruined city sprues :D

One of the IRC channel members suggested I put the DKoK Quartermaster Servitor holding the equipment in, but I've decided to have no figures at all. Wouldn't want to confuse myself and start rolling for shooting models from a marker :P

It is similar to my idea. Perhaps we all think too much alike, eh?

well my entry has been drying now for close to 20 hours, and its still not ready to be finished off (you dont want to know how much PVA glue i used...). i think im going to have to give it at least another day. 8O

once its ready to be undercoated, i will post WIP pics - until then, i will keep you guessing. :P

I know, I know, an underwater command centre!!!

Command centre CENTRE CENTRE TRE!

Bloody colonists.

Well, I'm surprised that my idea doesn't fit with any of yours so far (are you though?).

I have most of the bits I need, but has anyone got one of these I can borrow? I only need it for a day or so.

Oi! There he is! That is my pet Bucky, he dug a mighty deep hole under the garden fence and ran away from home some time back. I thought I would never see him again. Where did you find him?

Here's my plan for a command center (centre?)

Image

I'm just having a tough time fitting it onto a 40mm base :D

Hmm yes, I can see that it would be problematical. How do you intend to address this? Epic scale?

It's either that or scale up the entire 40K world to gargantuan!
