I undercoated mechrite red, then drybrushed the scales orange and then yellow. Having done 1 as a test model first I discovered that the dip mutes the models down a lot, so I made the drybrushed highlights quite stark. The models looked like a 5 year old had painted them before I dipped so I was dubious, but it seems to have worked well! Once the dip was on and dry the colours were much more muted, but the anti-shine spray lightens everything again, so the colours stood out.

Nice technique, and the results speak for themselves.
