Painting September 2009

Postby estarriol » Thu Sep 24, 2009 2:06 pm

Finally settled into my new residence in Sheffield enough to set up the painting desk and get some work done, and first out of the boxes were Space Marines, so here is a squad, with their transport Razorback.

The thmbnails crop the pics, so click on each of them.

Very cool, 8) you're off to a good start.
I like the color scheme, different.
Are you going to change your location to a "Cave in Sheffield"? :D

Cave location changed, I had forgotten about that.

Thanks for the comment, I like simplish paintschemes, especially as I have a lot of them.

Yep, there will hopefully be a couple of old predators as well...

All but one of my Rhino's/Razors are the old style. :)

Yes, I use washers that are the same size as the plastic ones, but they put some nice weight at the base of plastic figures, aiding stability etc.

Well worth doing - I used to do that a lot back when GW used to put metal and plastics together - I used to have a squad of guard heavy weapons that tended to topple over as the great huge plasma cannons they carried around on their shoulders were too heavy for their poor little plastic legs! :-)

It has the added advantage od meaning I can line a storage box with magnetic sheet (I use signwriters, that gets used on vans etc, as you can get offcuts for peanuts) and they stay put.

New pic, original plastic Womble Marines, the first unit of them I ever finished, painted in the late 80's, certainly in Rogue Trader rule book times.
