Savage orc boar boys are done. I'm leaving them shiny so that they match the rest of them:

I'm wondering what to do next for this army. I'm leaning towards all the orc archers I have (just under half are currently painted). While I doubt I'd use them in anything other than a big game, it's another unit out the way, they look good all lined up together and I think they should be pretty quick.

Then I'll probably do the Giant and then that boar boy command group I cobbled together.

I'm updating all my plogs... either I have the bug to start a real blitz or I'm setting myself up for supreme failure!

Having just got a load more models from jimster in a great deal, the green tide has become more grey/silver again! I'm going to get Paul to work through a bunch of units to help me catch up and I think I'll paint the giant next.

Started the giant this evening. He was sprayed black a while ago

And tonight I've done the base colours

Next up is to dip him (tomorrow)! I think brown would be a better colour for him but as the rest of the orc army is done with black I'm going to risk going with that. Fingers crossed it turns out OK!

The only thing I don't like is the line of brown dip on the bottom of his shield.
It also didn't fill in the detail lines on the top of the shield.
Is this because the dip is still wet? Is it something you touch up later?
Other than that, looks very nice. Good choice of colors on the prey, came out great when toned down by the dip.

Yes the dip is still wet in the picture but pooling is something that will always happen, you can't really avoid it.. it's a liquid! The worst can be removed but at some point you have to leave it to dry.

But yes there is still work to do.

My daemons also have areas where the dip has pooled.

Thinking of changing this thread to "MJG's blitz and WLH's occasional commando raid from the safety of our island fastness painting log"

For shame

I tried to change the title but "MJG's blitz and WLH's occasional commando raid from the safety of our island fastness painting log" is too long :llorar

The giant is ready to be varnished

I like it. How did you get rid of the line of dip at the bottom of his necklace/shield? It came out really very nice.
