DaBoss's Project Log: Chaos Warhound Titan

Postby DaBoss » Thu Dec 24, 2009 5:20 pm

Well with my 40th Birthday over - I was lucky, my darling wife bought me a Forgeworld Chaos Warhound Titan.

I'm planning on adding it to my Pre-Heresy Worldeater force for the Siege of Terra Campaign being run by the Tempus Fugitives Group in the spring.

So started working on cleaning it up and gluing it together.

As I work on it I'll post more pictures of my progress.

Arm mounts - using magnets to hold them in place and aid in storage

Main Body glued together - not worried about painting the detail (as everyone knows my painting skill is quite limited - Mr 3 colours.

I'd agree. Such a model deserves the effort best available.

I don't know Phil, Rogal Dorn will have to batter that as well. Remember they are my palace walls!
"Crom, i've never prayed to you before, i have no tongue for it.
No-one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought and why we died.
All that matters is that two stood against many, thats whats important.
Valor pleases you lord Crom so grant me one thing, grant me revenge.
And if you do not listen....then to hell with you!"

No, I had to promise my wife that I would do all of it - and actually it will be a labour of love to do, so I will do my best

Well a bit of spare time today before the New Year celebrations - gave me time to put together some more of my Chaos Warhound Titan.

Now attached to a Base (Wedding Cake Base reason for being so silver and bright)

Having trouble with the join between torso and carapace - seems to only sit nicely facing in one direction; not a big problem really - just have to turn the whole model to face.

Looking good, and that base looks exactly the right size to me.

Still need to yank/snap off my hurricane mega bolter and magnetise so I can use kings turbo laser.. but it just seems so wrong making it go snap..

Really cheap but strong - £1.29 from Hobbycraft.

KInG wrote:here's my idea for the joint at the middle, legs/torso:

Yep, done the same but I think I cut the pin too short as the Carapace still leans over when pushed to the left.

God bless IKEA - GW should really invest in making a modelling table cloth not just the Hobby station...Though I have been warned by the Wife to watch myself with flicking paint - as it seems to magically miss the table cloth and land on the floor and walls!!!

+1 :)

I used two on my WIP Silver Tower and I've got one here for my Brass Scorpion too. It's really tough, the compressed card actually resisted a drill more than some wood does.

Soul Grinders? I used to play them on CDs until 5th ed came out, now we play as the rules say and without issue. Not sure you need a base now Matt, or even should have a base strictly speaking ~ in RAW speak type of thing..
