Death Dealers SM Chapter

Postby timewizard » Sat Feb 06, 2010 11:48 pm

Well, I guess it's about time I got a project log going. Hopefully it'll keep my butt moving to get stuff done. So this log will be for the army, and I'll post another with terrain. So on with the show;

First is a pair of Vindicators, just have to finish the fine details on the one on the left.
Image

2 Dreadnauts, 1 with assault cannon and 1 with lascannon. Still need decals but otherwise good enough for tabletop.
Image

1st bike squad. The attack bike is attached with a magnet so it can convert to/from regular or attack bike as needed.
Image

Terminator squad, basic loadout plus 1 with the cyclone missile launcher.
Image

Tactical squads. 18 regular marines with bolters and 3 squad sergeants.
Image

Special weapon marines. There are 2 flamer, 2 plasma gun, 2 meltas, 2 missile launchers, 2 lascannons, 1 plasma cannon and 1 heavy bolter...so far.
Image

Assault marine squad and Chapter Captain Brother Jonathan Steele
Image

Razorback and Rhino. The top hatches are removable so I can change configuration to field 2 Rhinos or 2 Razorbacks.
Image

WIP land raider redeemer.
Image

1 completed drop pod, 1 WIP.
Image

2 plain Rhino chassis, have the predator sponsons and turret magnetized so these 2 can become predators, rhinos, razorbacks or whirlwinds as needed.
Image

WIP scout sniper squad.
Image

Land Speeder Typhoon variant. There's a magnetic weapon mount under the nose to convert it to a Tornado variant with different weapon loadout.
Image

2 more land speeders in various stages of completion. Same weapon options as the last.

Great stuff TW. I think the army will look great once it's all complete. Well done on the attackbike :D

The vehicles might benefit from "muddying" the bottoms. A light and messy drybrush with a couple of shades of brown is usually sufficient.

I like the captain.

Have you got any washes? I think if you want to add a litte detail/depth, washing the red and yellow areas would help out (it was the front plates on the bikes which made me think of that).

Thanks Matt, I have some badab black and devlan mud. The devlan would probably be better for the bikes.

Adding mud and dust to the vehicles is on my "still to do" list. :)

Good stuff, mate!
I especially like the bare head rhino driver, who looks like he is being tickled with a feather.

Wow! Can't believe I haven't updated here since February!
Anyway, finally completed a squad of Sternguard Vets, 5 plus a Sergeant.

Have to get myself moving on the rest of the force!

They look great TW and the orange banner is a nice touch as the offset colour.

I think the studs on the shoulder pads might benefit from being the same colour as the marine body armour though rather than green.

I like the green pads.
The banner is excellent, btw!

Thanks! I like the idea of making the shoulder pad studs the same white. Will work on that.

Am going to fit all other sergeants with the same style banner.
I thought it came out great too!
