4 tunes of war

We finally had our first full-size game (3000 points) at TWAT hq. :D

The Blood Angels (debuting the new dex) vs a rag-tag of chaosy stuff.

Good game, but odd at times.

I thought the 7 strong termie assault squad, 5x lc's + 2x th's +ss were going to be tough opposition, but they were mental!
They poured out of a crusader and personally ate ...

5 bikers, inc pf champ.
4 'zerkers, inc pf champ.
6 slaaneshi termies inc 2x champs with lc's and a cf.
With no loss. 8O

They then were on the end of a drive by, 10 csm's with 2x plasma guns, 1 dead.
Termies then charge chaos marines, kill all of them, but take 4 casualties from ordinary attacks!

The game featured a doomed performance from possibly the unluckiest jp assault squad ever.
They came in from reserve and leapt at a squad of 'zerkers (that had been whittled down to 2 ordinary guys) and a rhino.

The rhino escaped unscathed, 1 'zerker bit the dust.
2 assault marines die and they flee.
They land right next to his last troops, guarding the objective, in a wood and start dropping to dangerous terrain.

The remaining marines, in a perfect line, along with the afore mentioned troops, just as 2 doom sirens open up, leaving 1 left who left the table post-haste.

Bloodangels are good, not guard good.. but wee all over chaos.There is a reason why WS general is full of chaos players using wolf or BA codex as counts as.
That the termies took any regular wounds shows that they didn't have a termie priest hanging out with them (making int 5 lightning claws and 2+ then 4+ against conventional weapons).
Good kicking ass with flamer templates..did dude not run to minimise perfect blossom?

No, but it was game no1 for him (caspar) for nearly a year, with a new codex to boot.

We dropped so many clangers, it was untrue, including a truly mammoth brain hits wall moment as we stood around literally for a week trying to figure out wound allocation on a simple death company.

Lack of games + alcohol + general stupidity = heady mix of failure.

As you know, I bemoan the loss of a chaos dex but I wouldn't counts as from space morons, just seems, urgh, icky (though, still might have a go at the bike armada).

That's a point, debued 2 daemon weapon, winged lords along for the ride with the sonics in rhinos.
Quite a shock factor when the predictable rush/drive by splits at weird speeds.

Sounds very like my back in the day libby with avenger with combat squadded flamer and combi flamer thingyma jobby. :D
Props for trying such sub optimal tosh and making it into something :wink:

It was nearly the sub-op, I almost took 2x havoks, as they looked so sad and unappreciated.

I ended up with ...

2x lords, daemon weapon, wings.

2x10 csm, 2x plasma, champ for possession, in rhino's.

2x5 noise marines, pw + siren champ, 4x blasters, in rhino's.

2x8 berzerkers, champ fist.

6x slaaneshi termies, 2x lc 1x cf.

2x5 bikes, each 2xplasma's and fist champs.

2x3 oblits.

1x defiler, auto-cannon + flamer.

From memory, he had ...

Chaplain, j pack.

5 lc, 2 th+ss termies in crusader.

12x death comp, 2x fists jump packs.

3x tac squads, missile launcher combat squaded into fire bases and in rhino's.

3x attack bikes, multi-meltas.

10x assault marines, 2x plasma.

Pred annihilator.

Vindicator.
