Yeah, I remember the RT dread models. But I didn't really know how they worked game wise or fluff wise. So I was right in thinking this Contemptor shouldn't have looked as advanced as it does? Thanks for clearing that up.
I suppose thats like the ships in Star Trek: Enterprise that are ment to be Pre ST:O that look more advanced than in TNG. Yes graphics/construction techniques have improved, but they could have do a better job representing the time line.

And yes, I love the dready goodness too :D

I quite like it. However I'd be very tempted to remove the helmet and replace it with a brain in a glass dome! haha

I came across this pic when I was lookin at another forum. Are these the epic dreads you're refering to Spack? Because I have to say, the new FW model has a remarkable resemblence.

I also see the old Space Crusade Chaos Dread. I wonder if FW will be doing an updated version of that. Because THAT I'd be interested in.

I still think the new model is to big and too advanced looking. But I also came across this pic weeks ago of someone else work. I liked it and saved the pic for later reference.

I have to ask though. Where did they get the names Chuck, Fury and Eddie?

Yes, that's the sprue. The names are based on the "official" Dreadnought class names Contemptor, Furibundus, and Deredo. The RT 40k rulebook has the nicknames as being used by the Imperial Army.

Mine is sitting in soapy water now. I probably won;t begin any assembly until Thursday. Planning on magnetising the arms - picked up two power fists, one of which I will convert to have a meltagun, and one set of the lascannons.
