November 2011 40K Singles Tournament

Postby mattjgilbert » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:28 am

Please use this thread to discuss the 40K singles tournament on the Saturday. We need to determine the format we are going to use and the rules to follow.

Plus someone (not me this time!) needs to organise and run it on the day.

I don't mind doing it. Also not a big deal if I don't get to play due to weird number as my enthusiasm for using CSM is a little stretched atm ;)

EDIT: not that I don't want to play, it's just not a big deal :)

So number of things to clarify.

Number of Rounds: 3 or more
Length of a Game: 2 - 2.5hrs
Size of Game: 1500pts or 1750pts
Scoring System: Based on Wins/Draw/Loss result - custom scoring
Scenerio's: Basic 3 missions & 3 deployment

Thoughts?

Singles - good idea.

I like 1750 points, not played a tourney at that level before...

Are Gaming Figures providing a prize? ;)

I'm not organising. I'm too dis-organised! But I think we should stick to the standard missions, with VPs as tie breaks - it's generally the simplest way.

So will it be a simple league or a kind of knockout system?

Once that's decided, I think we're there...

we might be able to get 4 games in saturday as they venue stays open later than whw. if we stay at 1500 that would make it easier to do.

some of our guys wint be pkaying in the tourney so ither games will be getting played that day too for those not in a competitive mood.

I will sit on the fence, as I honestly don't mind what we do and who is organising (as long as its not me!)...

Not played 1,750pts, but won't be upset if we play 1.5k or 2k.

I'll most likely re-check this thread the night before to find out what's going on, pen a list in a service station on the way and then blame my bad dice rolls when I come a shockingly last ;)

Hi all.

Has the points value for the tourney been confirmed?

Bara and myself are wanting to play some games of 40k before we rock up (shocking, I know!). Would be good to know the points limit, esp if its 1750pts as we have not played at that level before!
