OK so where we currently stand..to summarise

Could do but openly unenthusiastic
Stunty, Baragash (in charge on the day per this threads comments)

Could do but would equally play KOW
Daboss, Matt

Could/Would do 40k, can fall back to KOW proxy sillys if required,
Red devil, KMB

People devoutly willing to play in 40k tourney, swear allegiance to not play another games system on the day and uphold the principles of grimdark...currently stands at
KIng, LH.

Other unnamed people as yet undecided but some declared they will not be taking part.
Barely even lurking..

How about a warmachine tournament?

Just to mess with KMB's summary ;)

It's starting to sound like a weekend of random pickup games... Shall we just stick to a 40K tourny then. I'm still not running it though.

Totally understand LH's views on proxy models/paper. I was merely suggesting it as a way of me keeping in with the majority to keep numbers at a decent level for a tournament. Also, I would like to play KoW, but have only been collecting for a very short while and not the funds to build a sizeable army (unlike 40k, which I have been collecting for 17 years).

As for what we play, I have no real preference. I have a fully assembled and painted army I can take. However, our last tournament (the Doubles in March) featured some incomplete armies. If this is the case, then I can field one of four 40k armies (one I would definitely like to give a go), if this is allowed...?

Just to clarify, I have no issues with paperhammer. The issue I have (and I will point out that this is my feeling on the matter and may not stack up to anyone else's perception) is that a tournament run under the auspices of AoS will show people who aren't AoS members what we are about, how we conduct ourselves & how we can attract new members. In that senario paperhammer isn't the way forward in my opinion.

Feel free to ignore me on this guys if I've misread what this is about.

Must admit that I'm not a fan of paper proxy, even extreme proxy model (had one guy use a carnifex as a Greater Daemon in a game)
I don't have a problem with unpainted stuff as I still have plenty myself.

Given the collections of miniatures we have, if someone wants to use an army or just some models, I'm sure as a group we can bring along the models if given enough notice.

Myself, I have something of each army for WH40K and Fantasy.
I'm likely to use Twilight Kin for KoW, so have a full 1500pts of Undead available.
FoW again have various lists available for each Nation.

So if someone needs something in particular or would like to borrow an army for the weekend - please feel free to ask.

Ditto here - I can bring extra armies if required. However - I think we can all do 40K so we should stick to that for the first day I think. Yes?

Nige is going to chase his lot again for numbers.

So in the absence of anyone else doing it I guess I'll have to do it again!
