Matt's DKH

Postby mattjgilbert » Sat Feb 25, 2012 8:21 pm

I've got all 3 (so far) sets of Dwarf King's Hold from Mantic and one of my 2012 objectives was to get all the models painted up. I'm also going to mount them all on clear plastic bases which I had cut to order so that the board and counter details under the models are not obscured but the models still gain the stability of a base. I've got enough to do all the DKH sets and also Project Pandora when it arrives.

Here's my bag of bases
Image

And with the protective cover off
Image

The bases are exactly the right size for the squares on the tiles and work perfectly as you can see here

Here's all the Dwarf models and the mastiff assembled
Image

The first quest/mission uses the fallen dwarf model to represent a tomb. I used some plasticard and a couple of spare bits from the frames to make a proper marker

Very nice again matt.
The clear bases are a very nice touch.
Where did you pick them up?

I like the bases idea, it's one I intend to use if I ever do naval gaming.

It took me a while but in the end I found this place which cut small enough (most places had 50mm as the minimum cut size)

25mm is the lowest they go but it fits perfectly.

Lovely job Matt!

Not sure how I managed to mis-measure the DKH squares though... (it was a GW ruler, but it isnt made of Finecast so I can't blame my tools....)

Awesome Matt!
Nice, clean job once again.
I really like the clear bases under the minis.
the gameboard comes through great and it looks like it really helps the models in gameplay.
First rate job.
