Hello everyone!
I've made a blood angel list based on a few things which have been going around my head lately...
Fings wot I've bin finkin' abaat:
1) Everyone's got a blood angel list, there must be a reason
2) I played blood angels for about 10 years, all the way through 2nd ed & into 3rd
3) Mephiston is really quite good
4) I must do something with the vindicators in my loft
5) I need to do something with the massive amounts of space marines & rhinos I have hanging around
So here we go:
Blood Angels 1750 (1500 is for teh gayz)

That's 1745 points!
Now, it looks a bit odd. Some of it because I couldn't fit Mephiston in
At the start I get a barrage of missiles off from the sternguard & typoons, the tanks can move 12" & shoot their guns.
In an ideal world I'll have a front row like this:
FAVAVVF
(where F = heavy flamer razors, A = assault cannon raozors, V = vindicator) That'll stop the sides of the vindicators being targetted , and with the librarian in the centre razor, I can cast sangine shield to get a cover save if I don't get one already to cover the assault cannons & vindicators. Obviously if it's a horde army I'll swap the assaault cannons & heavy flamers around.
The typhoons will lurk behind this front line & the sternguard will go where the cover & LoS is.
I've foregone my usual massive amounts of melta on the basis that I don't really care about Land Raiders & I've got 3 vindicators anyway!
Once I demech my opponent through the over-use of missiles, vinicator shells & assault cannons, then the army switches to anti-infantry with the typhoons closing in with the heavy flamers, the flamer razors and frags on the sterguard. I'm hoping I won't need to use the assault marines at all (other than the odd melta shot when they get shot out of their tanks) and they can concentrate on running to objectives & hiding.
I'm not sure if I have enough AT or Anti-Infantry if I'm honest... I think it's because I usually count melta guns, auto cannons & scatter lasers for that, which this list lacks in spades!
You'll note the vast swathes of dozer blades designed to keep the mech formation together without having to worry too much with terrain. And the extra armour on the vindi's - which looks quer, but if they lose a gun, I want to be able to keep the moving to:
1) hide rhinos behind;
2) tanks shock; and
3) ram stuff!
Well, that's my thought process on building this. Anyone got any comments on it effectiveness (other than vindicators - lol, which I take as read).
