Till the end of the turn

Postby KInG » Wed Feb 13, 2013 10:25 pm

"Till the end of the turn"

Does this mean if I'm going first then it lasts mine and opponents turn?

And if I'm going second it just last till then of my current turn?

From page 9 of the rules, in bold;

"Whenever a rule refers to 'a turn' it always means 'player turn' unless it specifically refers to a 'game turn'"

There is 2 meanings to "Turn" player turn and game turn. A player turn is when one player in the game completes each of the phases that make up a turn i.e move shoot assault etc. A game turn is made up of 2 player turns, 1 for each player.

When the BRB refers to a Turn unless is states otherwise it means player turn.

I believe he is trying to work out how I would carry out my threat of a first turn assault.

Well after you do it the first time, he'll understand how it's done!

Good to see him making a plan to counter it. As long as he understands that;

"No plan of operations extends with certainty beyond the first encounter with the enemy's main strength" - Helmuth Karl Bernhard Graf von Moltke

Or, no plan survives contact with the enemy. ;)

I'm interested find out how that is possible this edition. You'll have to let us know after it's been tested, that's if it's not just a wind up!

I believe it is possible, will just have to re-check a few things in the rules.

Of course, your opponent has to cooperate to a degree as well.

Also, if this is where KInG and BANE are going, there is this from the main rule FAQ;

Q: The rulebook states "A unit that makes a Scout redeployment
cannot charge in the first turn." Does this mean that if your
opponent has the first turn and you go second, your Scouting unit
can charge? (p41)
A: Yes.

Although, when they sent me undercover, I was briefed ahead of time by someone "in the know"!
