New 'old' SM Bikes from FW

Postby Cain Tiberius » Sat Mar 23, 2013 11:09 am

Forge World have just put up some Pre Heresy Bikes. I must say I really really like them. But in typical FW fashion, they are way way over priced.

@Talus: How about these for your Judges Lawmasters?

Wow, just when you think GW can't rip Judge Dredd off anymore for bike designs, here come the new bikes from FW that look as if they've been lifted straight off the set of the last film! I do like them but 60 quid for three bikes, no thanks.

I think they look great - but at £60 for a resin upgrade kit... they really have to be kidding.

Nice, but way too expensive even considering its forgeworld.

Agreed. Specially when I think I paid £90 for a storm eagle.

Apples are rubbish, because once I bought a squid and it didn't taste like chips at all.
Meh..I've never bought any FW.. like the rulesets general consumer.. battered when they come in expensive/underwhelming.. you only handpick the cheap/pretty/overpowered.(and noone rails at the £500 4x4 gaming table... I love you guys.

Finally got round to reading this months.. 10 plasma/melta guns for 11 quid seems pretty good.. What was the previous cheapest way of buying them through GW? (edit GW bitz 5 for £6 so FW ones are a quid cheaper on mass..the informed consumer will out)
Barely even lurking..

So they have. £45 is still ******* steep for three bikes though!

Beautiful models. Again. Sh1-tee prices - again. Company raping it's advocates - AGAIN! sheesh!

So now just under double the cost of the plastic kit on its own. That's heading in the right direction :) It's about at the top of the acceptable price bracket (for me at least). The upgrade kits are normally roughly (very roughly) half the cost of the basic plastic kit so I think £13 would be the right price.

Good on them for listening to feedback.

£45 is still step, but not as ludicrous as before.

@mattjgilbert: I think you have misread the description bud. They aren't upgrade kits. They are complete resin kits. Still over priced though.

Oh, lol. I thought you ment had to buy the plastic bike separate from GW.
But yeah, I'd imagine the wheels are the original plastic ones.

Looking at them, I think the front wheel is resin, engine block, rear bit, exhaust, rear wheel, seat, handlebars are plastic. Rear wheel has the horrible join lines, front wheel doesn't in the pictures - those wheels were always a bugger to fix IMO.
