AOS Painter of the Month Competition - July 2013

AOS Painter of the Month Competition - July 2013

Postby timewizard » Mon Jul 01, 2013 7:42 pm

Welcome to the July 2013 Painter of the Month Competition. Changes from last month's post are in red.

Each contestant must submit a photo of an unopened box, unassembled model or unpainted model or models or submit a drawing or photo describing the project into the "Painter of the Month April 2013" thread by July the 10th. Primed only models are acceptable but completely unprimed models are preferred. All genres of modeling are acceptable; i.e. any 40K, WFB, LOTR, FoW, plastic, metal, paper or collectable model as well as any scratch built project including terrain pieces. A list will be posted by one of the moderators in this post listing all eligible contestants for that month's competition. No entries will be accepted after the 10th of July. No exceptions.

During the month, wip photos can be put into the thread, and in fact are encouraged, but may not be placed in the competition gallery.

All completed entries must be submitted by the 28th of July and must posted in the competition gallery. No entries will be accepted after midnight GMT on July 28th. Only one entry per person will be permitted and the entry must consist of a single image. Multiple photos on the image are allowable but if more than one photo is uploaded to the gallery by any one entrant at any time, that entrant will be disqualified.

Voting will be held from just after midnight July 28th until midnight GMT on July 30th. At that time voting will be closed and the winners will be announced.

Every registered member of the site may vote. The total number of votes each member may cast will depend on the number of entrants as follows;
Up to 5 entries - 1 vote per registered member
6 to 10 entries - 2 votes per registered member
More than 10 entries - 3 votes per registered member
You can change your vote(s) until the poll is closed. No poll results will be revealed (even to the moderators) until the poll has closed.

The first place winner will be named the "Painter of the Month" and will be listed on the site. In addition, first place gets 3 points, 2nd place 2 points and third place 1 point.

In the event of a tie for any place or position, both entrants will receive the appropriate number of points. At the end of the year a "Painter of the Year" as well as the 2nd and 3rd place finishers will be announced. The winner will be determined by the total number of points received throughout the year.
If an entrant has not completed their project by the deadline, they may still enter an incomplete entry if desired, but it will of course be judged as such. The only requirement is to post the entry by the deadline. The members of the site have the final word after all!

We have a tentative list of prizes for the year end winners. These include, but are not limited to;
AOS Commemorative Dice
A GM limited edition collection figure

We are working on additional prizes as we speak, and should have more on the list within a couple of weeks.

Good luck to all the contestants!

Curse you Talus! :fisticon :fisticon

I can't start this thread and get my entry in at the same time to ninja you!

One of these month's though!

So anyway, for July, and in keeping with how fast the German tanks responded to the D-Day invasion, I'm going to do up 5 Tiger tanks. The set is called TIgers Marsch, and is out of production. Thanks to Talus for helping me find one on the net!

Sooner or later, I'll start getting some infantry done!

Because restic is a pretty crap material and this particular set has bastard levels of flash, I rate my chances of completing this as slim to none, but I'll give it a go ;)

12 Dreadball robots.

i went to wartorn at the weekend hoping to find something inspirational for this months comp. nothing really jumped out at me until I spotted my dad in 28mm glory. I nearly dropped my drink. it was a little diorama of football hooligans at a match with a couple of bobbies (policemen) looking on. the policemen were the double of my dad and his mate in their 1980's hayday when they used to police the matches at middlesbrough. i was overjoyed when i found i could by the policemen separately, best 3 quid I ever spent, I hope I do them justice and when they are completed im going to present them to the now retired misery arses

Well, some progress, have a couple of tigers just about complete!

Each tank is slightly different (equipment, battle damage, etc) so doing these will be really nice!
