good morning

Postby zomblicious13 » Tue Jul 02, 2013 9:56 am

Hi me and my family are thinking of moving to redcar and before we look into sorting a house out I needed to find a wargaming club, some kind person at age of strife pointed me in your direction.

Yeah there are 2 clubs the ironbeards and the raiders
The ironbeards meet on a monday and the raiders monday and thursday both clubs offer a variety of gaming and both groups are friendly (if loud) and always willing to help you if you need to learn a new system :-)

Its funny you should mention db the raiders are going to be running a league starting next week and if it works well we could run another at a later time depending when/if you move here

Greetings I run the Redcar Ironbeards club, which is the senior if not smaller of the two Redcar Clubs :D
We play mainly WH40K, X-Wing, WW2 in 15mm using Rapid Fire rules and we are just starting to play Bolt Action WW2

I wouldn't move back to Redcar even if someone paid me ! Normanby/Saltburn far more pleasant
Please excuse my chaotic spelling and grammar, I am Dyslexic, to my friends that means I am retarded and should always wear my water wings and helmet.

Jay, there are good and bad things with all the towns. Saltburn has Victorian charm but no wargames clubs, Normanby has.............?, Redcar has Wargames Clubs, Gaming Figures and Charity shops by the dozen

That is true but I find having lived in Redcar for 18 years then Eston, Boro and Normanby that overall Redcar was the worst! :D Besides Normanby has Nigel!

I have heard of this Nigel.

I thought that he was a myth invented by the tourist board to keep us soft southerners away...

Beware the Nigel, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!
When in deadly danger
When beset by doubt
Run in little circles
Wave your arms and shout
- parody of the litany of command

oooooooooooooo the wonders of nigels shed are legendary, with only the chosen few allowed to gaze in wonder, alas I am yet to be initiated in the mysteries, so can only speculate as to its magnificence

Its not that bad Hunter, I have lived there since before you were created, it has its bad points like all UK towns but it has a lot of good points. The beach, a good selection of watering holes that host some cracking live music and of course the Gaming Clubs
