Ive just read the book this morning. It is basically all the rules for apocalypse regarding individual superheavy and gargantuan creatures. The force organisation chart allows you to take one of these as a lord of the war detachment to primary detachment, just like fortifications. This gives your opponents access to a new warlord traits table and a chance to score
VPs in other ways.
I feel like the book is just another copy and paste. As a concept i like the idea of being able to field a lord of war attachment. The idea of these bigger models being allowed in normal games. And without having to ask permission of your opponent also. Although he'll probably guess when you ask to up the points limits.
They could, however, have just given us a new force organisation chart and said refer to the rules in the apoc book. There are some slight changes to the rules and damaged tables etc, but on the whole it is apocalypse on a smaller scale.
The only army that gets access to non-ForgeWorld resin models are the imperial guard with the various baneblades, necrons with the tesseract/obelisk, chaos with the KLoS and the orcs with their stompa. And dark elder now get the Revanant Titan!!!!!
There is also a new missions section which I haven't read yet, but that is basically how the game stacks up now with this new addition.
On the whole and rather disappointing publication. I bought both books last night, digital versions, and will review the other book later today.
