Darklighter's Tau Log

Postby Darklighter » Fri Apr 04, 2014 12:12 am

Well I keep a fairly regular blog update over on ATT. I thought it might be time to post it on here as well.

The original log has followed my entire repaint of my Tau army since the last codex droped Take a look if you like ATT Log

I've recently finished work on commander Farsight. I've decided that The enclaives will be black not red so he and the 8 (when I get around to making them) will all be black in contrast to my Sandy T'au spet warriors I'm allso be repainting shadow sun again back to a white to further that contrast.

I know we have the anything goes challenge on the go and I've got my Inquisitor model to pain.......

...... So This is what I've been doing instead!

Let me know what you think. I got all the weapons magnetised same as my last one. I've not glued the shield on just yet for paint and I have a few more things to do to the base before I prime. I've also re-primed my Tigershark ready for next months challenge. I wish I could stay on task!

I'm liking that pose very very much, really dynamic Nik.. well done. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

Looking through your pictures on other stuff, the skyray weathering I also like very much too. Good work fella :)

Great idea to go away from the red. Love the running pose on the riptide.

I have my fist months painting campaign models all put together and awaiting paint. here is a starting shot of my 500 points.

Some wargear may change as I get to it for my final list, but these are the minimum models I have to paint.... I can't wait to get started! I've also got so many drone prepared it's unreal and I'm still short or done disks and antenna to make the other options available to me.

My first squad of Kroot are finished and ready for duty. They have taken much longer than I'd anticipated as they looked really really bad until the last few finishing touches came and tied them all together making them look finished and not rushed and lazy.

I'm on with squad two and have the base layers on three broadsides. I'll post pictures of my Tiger shark after the other comp has finished. I'll get the other squad and Broadsides up soonish.

Slow down, your stressing me out now. Lol

I've been totally distracted with a large PHR force that just made planet fall. They have all been built and sprayed black. (Btw do u thin that vallejio black printer?)

Tonight after work I plan to camo them up blue to the point where the whole army is same colour then stop!

Then drag out the ig list I submitted for our blog and start. That probably means that my paint entry this month will end up unfinished. I will only go back to them once the ig are all done ready for our battle report. ;)

Ps your base edges aren't finished. ;)

Looking great. May i suggest however that you do another clean paint coat on the base rims? They look quite patchy in the photos.

Yes, yes you may. I totally did not see this post until now. I noticed that my self and I've gone back over them all. Thank you Angelwing, there is also a treat just for you at the end for this post.

It's been a busy month in the hobby cave. I've built and painted over 1000 points of Tau and I still have more to be added.....

Here is my newest Broadside team. I've not put squad/sept markings on them yet but will as soon as I dig out my crib sheet to see what I've already done.

Image

Image Image Image Image

I have magnetised the secondary weapons but didn't bother with the main rifle. I'll eventually make up a second squad of missile-sides, but I have one more rifle squad to do first.

Next up is a new and converted Ethereal. I've some how ended up with three of the same model this is number two and the third is in the works.

Image

Image Image Image

I've also painted up a second Kroot squad but I didn't take any shots of them on there own. I did however take a few group shots of everything I've painted this month.

I can't wait to have my first game of 7th with these guys.
