MDF buildings for DzC

MDF buildings for DzC

Postby timewizard » Sat Nov 22, 2014 5:55 pm

Hi all,
I put together some buildings from a company on this side of the pond called Game Craft Miniatures http://www.gcmini.com/

This first one is one of the larger ruined buildings.

Happy to oblige! Here's the ruin with a bear, a condor and an invader:

This is a medium sized ruin with the same models:

And a smaller ruin again with the same models:

The company also make intact buildings. I did this one, and along with the other models added a Desolator on a 6" high flight stand to give you an idea of the size:

You just get the basic box building, I added a fair amount of wood trim to deck it out a bit.

I have another taller building to do and when I get it started I'll post a pic of the "bare bones" item to show what they look like without the additions.
For variety, I bought a building in 15mm scale just to see how it might work with the game board, nothing for scale comparison yet, but here's a wip to show how it is coming out:

This is the smaller of the ruined buildings.

In DzC they are impassable, but in other games this could be difficult terrain. The site has buildings and ruins available in 28mm as well for the 40K and Bolt Action players out there!

In fact, for a great Reichstag building for FoW, he has this kit available as well:

Will post more pics of my buildings as I get them done. Oh, and I guess a pic of my board would be in order at some time, eh?

Just so everyone knows that the company makes more than just ruins, here is an intact building from the same range:

I added the trim around the roof with balsa and cardboard strips, and the detail inside the large openings on the ground floor were from Hawk wargames website. I still want to add some detail to it, but for now, for game purposes it's fine.
