That would be awesome... I have to hide this thread for my little one as I'd never hear the end of it until I built him a helm.

The bubble lenses arrived!

Annoying ly I've got glue on them, and they need cleaning and polishing after getting them mounted, but now it looks more like a TIE helmet from the movies.

One thing that bothered me about this helmet is the resin ear disks. This week I managed to get some aluminium disks (from The Aluminium Falcon) and have now replaced them.

First a close up of the existing resin disk that was held in place the machine screw that holds the ear on.

The aluminium are the same size.

I decided to mount these over the screws, so first drilled out the back enough for the screw head to fit into so that the disk would sit flush.

The disks were then glued into place. I'm much happier with these, and now match how they looked in the movies.
